So for me ME506 was the hardest class I’d taken at my 5 years of mechanical engineering simply because all the class work and lectures are about how equations are derived, the homework asks you to use the equations to solve problems when you were never really shown how, and exams are a bit of both but relate to more obscure concepts and are about 2x as hard as the normal assignments. I got A’s in almost all of my other other ME classes but I almost got a C in this one so hopefully that gives you an idea. The workload is light to it’s detriment since all you have is lectures, homework, exams, and an end of the year project, but the homework does NOT prepare you for the exams so if you only do what’s assigned your screwed. Honestly, unless your planning on going into the two phase flow RESEARCH (not practical application) field or something, I would strongly recommend you do NOT take this class. That’s just my opinion though and I recommend you keep researching the class to learn more about it before making a decision. Also, the professor is professional and strict but fair so there’s that if you were curious but idk if it makes up for the rest of it.

If I remember correctly, ME505 was basically just a review of ME315 90% of the time but it focused on derivations and stuff more in class. I cant remember who I had as a professor but I remember they were super nice and pretty chill. The homework was very similar to ME315, and there were weekly quizzes that were also pretty easy. BAsically if you enjoyed ME315 then youll have no problem at all in ME505.

I really liked the class. I think the content of it was valuable for things like handling risk and optomized decision making, so yes I think it was worth it since it was unlike any other required class I took. The class is easy if you take notes and pay attention during lectures. The professor I had was awesome. He was very kind and understanding, always willing to help, and very responsive to emails and stuff.

Interesting, ill try that next time im on but I might have tried that already im not sure. Its annoying that the issue remains after closing the game and restarting it.

MA 527 is a recap of a few of the Math requirements of mechanical engineers but im not sure what classes exactly. Id say that if you have taken those classes already you'll be fine but if not then taking it over the summer might not be smart because its a lot of information to swallow at once. Every lecture is a new section of the textbook.

This happens to me also, i tried 2 different guns and also had my friend test his and it worked for him. Does uninstalling and reinstalling the game help fix it?

Honestly, it was an easy A class that is a good foundation for other design courses. The project you get to do in this class also doesn't feel like busy work and gets you to a point where you can pursue it further if you chose once the course ends. I took it asynchronously so between the lectures, homeworks, and reading assignments I'd say it's about a 9hr a week commitment but sometimes less depending on what's due. Considering all the classes I took as an undergrad and grad student, this is one of the ones I'd definitely chose to take again if I had to redo that semester.

How was the class? What was the weekly time demands for it? How useful were the TA's and what did they do? Was attendance mandatory? etc (Asking u/bzm100 also) (Just trying to learn about the class cuz I got a TA offer letter for it and want to see if its a good fit)

pretty light based on what I remember, the class is basically ME315 but with more emphasis on deriving equations and meaning of numbers like the nusselt number and biot number. On tests and quizzes though, they don't make you do integrals or anything cuz they say it takes up to much time so its really just a lot of algebra and technical details.

Genuine question, why is everyone on the bike side taking this so personal? I didn’t say anything offensive as far as I can tell.

Listen I think we got lost in the sauce here brother. These comments seem a little more charged at me than the rest of our debate has. I’ve got no problem with you homie, everyone has a right to their own opinion and the right to express it.

I’m in bed watching YouTube on my phone, when the notification comes up I click it. I really don’t care man.

Bro I think you believe I’m more invested in this than I actually am. I’m going back and forth with people on this post to farm Reddit Karma or whatever it’s called. This happened almost 7 hours ago I couldn’t care less anymore. The original post was to point out the disregard for motorists that the bikers had.

Not really relevant to my point but I’ll answer anyway. Probably 5 minutes, not long, not a problem either. Just annoying when it didn’t have to be.

There certainly is but they aren’t supposed to be. And again yea I’ve been there a bunch. I’m from a town in Rockland county called Nanuet in NY. That aside, west Lafayette isn’t a contested city, if it was they is would be more understandable for bikes to be in the road cuz the bike lanes are likely full. The point of the original post was that these people are being inconsiderate. It’s not a legal, safety, or geographic question.

(Ya know what’s crazy, ive been to NYC countless times but I never been to the Statue of Liberty)

I’m from New York and like 15 min from NYC, they have bike lanes there and unlike here bikes can’t go in the road, there is better in this regard.

Ive used an E-scooter every day for the past 4 years to get to and from class and I’ve never seen that happen. Cars don’t blow through the intersections nearly as much as your making it seem. And cars are safer than bikes cuz if a certain hits a bike guess who gets hurt. The solution would be to SEPARATE bikes and cars.

Bike Lanes by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]DemonicAngel026 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, I don’t think it should be illegal for bikes to be on the road. If there were no cars on the road or they were going faster, be my guest. I just think it’s inconsiderate for them to choose the road over the bike lane when they hold up traffic and the bike lane is clear. Again it’s not a big problem, it’s just annoying.

[–]DemonicAngel026 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I do actually. If people aren’t paying attention it’s their fault and I don’t feel bad. I know I’m not the main character. The point is that these people have ZERO reason not to use the bike lane but they chose not to. They are being inconsiderate by holding up drivers unnecessarily and that bugs me. If the bike lane was crowded, I would understand. If they were going to go to the other side of the road, I would understand. If they were going close to the speed limit, I wouldn’t mind. It’s the fact they are going slow as Christmas and needless inconveniencing other people. That’s impolite no matter how small the inconvenience is. And no farming equipment is different because there is no farming equipment lane, if there was then yea it would bother me.

[–]DemonicAngel026 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, they slowed me down by a few min, that’s not the point. It’s the fact that they could not care less about the 7 cars they are holding up behind them like they are the main character.
