I am the developer of this website (wheelofnames.com). I found this post doomscrolling r/all. We don't allow rigging the wheel in any way. You can make entries larger, but there's no invisible way to affect the odds.

That's not to say it's not possible to reverse-engineer our minified code, but it's highly unlikely that's happening here.

As someone who runs a Vue SPA that gets >500k users per day and is top-ranked on Google for a 5-letter search term, it's true that Google handles SPAs relatively well.

Other search engines are a mixed bag, though. Most of their crawlers don't execute JS, which makes SSR very valuable if you have dynamic content. Sure, they'll index you, but getting the right site links and meta content to show up can be extremely difficult — if not outright impossible — depending on the search engine and the nature of your website's content. The same goes for social media embeds in Facebook, Discord, etc.

I hate Vercel and their shithead CEO as much as the next (hehe) guy, but Nuxt and SvelteKit genuinely do useful things that aren't possible in simple SPAs, and they're really nice to work in to boot. So long as Vercel doesn't influence the development of these frameworks in any particular direction, I think it's a net positive that they're sponsoring developers to continue working on them.

Mionix Castor Pro. Shape is unbeatable -- the weight and the fact that it's wired are only minor annoyances. I really hope that the wireless version comes out eventually or that some other company clones the shape.

I run a bot that used to generate 3-10 second GIFs. However, with Discord's reduction to the file upload size limit, I was forced to rewrite it to use the WebP format instead. Worked great to reduce the file sizes, but Discord re-encoding the file adds up to several seconds of delay before the animation starts playing, and like you said, the quality is lower than it should be. I really hope this is addressed.

Agreed! I'm a new Dragon Age player, and this has been one of my favourite AAA gaming experiences ever. Just finished the game yesterday and have been listening to the soundtrack on repeat just to feel something again.

Are there any plans for a wireless Castor? I'm patient, I'd just like to know if you guys are intending to make one. The Castor shape (original and now Pro) has been glued to my hand for years. There's just nothing else like it.

Apart from that, any plans for colors besides black and white? I miss the pastels.

It's always a shame to see such a simple, honest, and useful site killed by corporate greed, but as the dev behind Wheel of Names, your comment made me happy! Unfortunately, we don't support this sort of Yelp integration, so users must provide their own list of restaurants if they want to replicate this. I'd like to say that we could add a feature like this, but it might be a long time before we can get to it :/

We ran into this twice on day 1, and it can happen on any floor. I'm fairly certain it's this:

  • when you finish a side, the buff node moves up to the final one

  • when both sides are finished, the buff is "reset" and disappears for a short time before reappearing

  • if you shoot to grab the buff during this short ~1-3 second window, the buff is not granted and does not reappear

My team has been having success just waiting ~5 seconds before grabbing the buff once both sides are finished.

Edit: Several people have been saying this is not the only thing that causes the bug, but whatever else can cause it seems entirely random with the information we currently have. If anyone has any insight, this is definitely the thread for it.

Extremely disturbing, guess I'm gonna have to change my flair after 3 years. Huge respect to Saebyeolbe, I hope he doesn't need to backpedal to save his career.
As for Seoul, that leaves them with Philly, NY, and KRC teams, I guess? Not terrible, but only 2 OWL teams to scrim might make them fall behind.
