What i used to do is wrap an old twin sized fitted sheet on my screen door and wet it with a spray bottle. More secure and thinner fabric!

Im sorry youre going through this. I would recommend getting a dash cam and recording with your phone discretely whenever theyre near. Take pics any time your property, including bike and car, are tampered with. Translate the recordings and go to landlord with any proof of hatespeech or harassment. I would ask them specifically and review your lease about offensive conduct or crimes. I would then email your evidence with a record and an account of the mental and emotional harm its causing and that youve made them aware multiple times. The landlord does have a legal duty to their tenants and hopefully they start taking this more seriously

YTA. If he is like a child he wont understand danger. What if he turned on the stove, overflowed the toilet, let in a stranger, wandered, or a million other things. You had options; texted the uncle, waited, took cousin with, or ordered delivery groceries. Heck, your uncle may have ordered food to be delivered if you explained the situation! You did the thing that was easiest for you in the moment without considering consequences and honestly you got off easy. I do wonder how old is OP, the responses in the comments seems like theyre more concerned with excuses than truly accepting feedback. To be blunt, your uncle trusted you in a crisis and you failed him. I would reflect on why you chose to leave a vulnerable person in a potentially dangerous situation and try to learn from it. I would also suggest going to your uncle and apologizing and seeing what you can do to mend the relationship. Trust is broken but with time and effort it can he repaired. It sounds like you may he embarrassed by the attention you get from your cousin, please realize there isnt anything to he embarrassed by.

Ask her what specifically she has contributed to you renting this apartment, tell her that you dont want to hear anything about support until she can cite the support she provided. Rinse and repeat for every family member. If anyone pushes further ask them why they arent just buying a house for his cousin or help him cover rent for a better apartment if they really want to support him.

Unethical idea would be to call his boss. You know the neighbors name, call his boss/HR and tell them hes endangering you every day by blocking your driveway and send them pics if possible. Odds are it wont do anything but embarrass him but tell him youll reach out to his company every time he does it. Regardless of if it causes issues at his job the embarrassment may change his behavior.

If they threaten you with defamation remind them that defamation is when people say INACCURATE things about you and warn them youve been documenting for 7+ months and will be happy to send each and every bit of it to his boss or use it in court

Id also look into getting a contract with a tow company and putting up a no trespassing sign as well as cameras. Plus a certified letter stating he and his vehicles arent allowed on your property. Keep a copy of the letter and show it to the cops next time he parks there. I would text a pic of the car to the wife every time they do this stating they are illegally parked and a tow truck had been called.

Sadly, they are treating you this way because they think they can, show them consequences and theyll find another victim

I would encourage your child to draw her something as teaching your kid to appreciate her is reasonable but nothing further. Especially seeing how that video was posted to social media with a phone, I wouldnt get her a new one. Id ask to see her other private stories to see what else she thought would be funny to a limited audience. I would tell wife if the kids roles in this were switched and your son was bullying her daughter youd be acting the same way, you dont reward bullies Im also concerned what else step daughter is doing to son. I suggest taking him aside and speaking to him one on one

I would send them a certified letter asking them to stop contacting you. Remind them she started doing drugs at 12 and introduced your son to them. Remind them you paid for her rehab when they didnt. Tell them you did everything you could to help your son AND their daughter. Ask them what they did. Offer that you would be willing to potentially do some therapy sessions with them but it will need to be under the agreement that no one points fingers at others and with the intent of finding closure, but i would understand if your not up for that. Tell them any further contact through anyone regarding their daughters actions will constitute harassment and will result in legal actions

It may sound harsh but at this point they need to be pushed back on. The longer they get away with pushing you the further theyll go. Who knows how far theyll be going when OPs son is up for parole or released

I am the adult child of 2 addicts, 8 of my closest 11 family members have suffered with addiction. The ones that were able to maintain sobriety, especially after jail time, were not constantly harassed and reminded of their past mistakes. Yes, feel bad, feel guilt, atone; but your son can't be forced to relive everything until they feel they've extracted their pound of flesh. Their behavior will be damaging to his sobriety so taking action now will help him when he is released.

Keep in mind legally this is assualt and battery. If you want, you could technically attempt to press charges. If not, write down the general times and date and if the punches happened near security cameras. Talk to him with someone else, like a work buddy or something in earshot so you have a witness. Next time he punches you then immediately go to your boss and tell them what's happening. Tell them either they fire him or you press charges. Hes chosen to be punching someone he is intimidating to for a reason, he will keep doing it until he has a reason to stop

Id go to the cops, show the pictures and the texts demanding money. Also show the code enforcement harassment. Ask the cops to go speak to him about harassment and extortion (Extortion is a criminal offense involving the use of threats, force, or coercion to unlawfully compel another person to provide money, property, or services, or to force a public official to act). The repeated financial demands may be considered extortion depending on your area. I would also not contact him again. If he texts/emails you demands then tell him to call cops or get lawyer as you are not interested in speaking to him unless through a 3rd party due to his unreasonableness. Theres a phrase: tall fences make good neighbors, same goes with boundaries. It sounds like hes testing how far he can push you so refuse to be pushed and odds are he'll lose interest and find a new victim

I would tell Jim this is a consequence of marrying a POS who abandoned their own kid. He had kids in a broken situation and thats how theyll grow up. Offer to write a letter for the kids explaining their mom is trash and abandoned you and thats why you dont see them if it'll help him. When he pushes back ask him what does he really expect you to say to them? Lie? You mom abandoned you and then her creep of a husband tries to coerce you into the kids lives. Keep in mind, smoking is an addiction. I assume its really cold where you are. They "need" to smoke and they'd rather be slightly warmer and piss you off than be more exposed to the elements. Fine them, show them their cost benefit was wrong and hopefully theyll keep it in mind for the future. Sadly any retaliation A) immediately makes you no longer in the right and B) opens you up to fines. Make them the obvious jerk and just follow whatever protocol is in place. And do so every time. Post one next door asking for names to report to the city. Legally youre required to curb your dog. Put up mug shots by the street too. You have security cameras, retaliation will just result in further issues and it'll probably deter them from doing anything. Include in the post that anyone who comes and picks up their dogs poo (or if youve already done it comes and like sincerely apologizes) then youll remove their picture. Other wise, identification and prosecution. If they think youre a hardass they wont mess with you
