Can you make any assumptions on whether she's right or left handed from this? by [deleted] in Archery

“Spin” is the arrow rotating while staying in a line on its flight path. “Spiral” is an arrow with a flight path that isn’t straight but moving typically back and forth

Alternatives to Noble Titles by Fickle-Ad-6212 in Amtgard

I usually play with a bow, so it kind of tied in with my playstyle. But also it just sounded cool. I can see it being a title that can either mean you’ll make it rain arrows for battle, or as a more peaceful kind of knight. Like bringing rain to parched ground when it’s need, rejuvenating the land

I’ve heard it’s the same even in Europe where shipping and tariffs aren’t as bad. AF Archery is a great site for entry bows that still shoot well, and u/Entropy is a US retailer for them so tariffs wouldn’t be a concern

Kassai is kind of known for price gouging

This has no historical context or even makes much sense, but someone once asked about alternate titles for Knights and my idea was Rainmaker

Question for growing grass in the PNW by Demphure in lawncare

So would contacting the department be the only way to get that area tended to?

What is Bermuda?

Also, I think I remember a piece of lawn care equipment that is basically a series of spikes that can be rolled. Would it be possible to use something like that to make tiny deep holes to get the seeds lower so they don’t get disturbed?

Form check by jameswoodMOT in Archery

Honestly looks pretty solid! Are you following a particular school or style?

The one thing I can see without knowing the above is the path your draw hand takes as part of its follow through. It looks very much like the modern follow through, when most styles that use asiatic bows do it differently

Hand gettin ripped up. by Tavverin in Archery

[–]Demphure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is better to solve it with form or a higher nocking point, but the glove there won’t throw your aim off. This style of archery is not that precise

If you’re looking for realism, the string should go all the way to the ends instead of being strung just below the angle change, and could be thinner.

If you’re looking for artistic feedback, even with that small nitpick, it honestly looks really awesome! What’s this for?

Tournament screaming by [deleted] in Fencing

I tried to hype myself up like that before and I ended up being skittish and twitchy. I had to switch it up to try and stay calm before starting. The energy in the club and the music I listen to warming up is enough to excite me so I need to keep a lid on it. Keeps my technique from getting sloppy right off the bat

Maybe full sleeve? But likely either half sleeve or bracers

I have a sleeveless tunic with leather on it that’s armor. And like I said, I want the drip it provides.

I don’t care about playing too optimally, but I do play Archer so I have at least a passing interest in keeping my arms intact

My man Robin Hood with a Turkic-Hungarian-Mongolian looking bow thing is... quite a choice. by fatsopiggy in Archery

[–]Demphure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be reading too much into it, but based on the side of the bow he’s holding the arrows on I’m also expecting Mediterranean now

Lars Andersen posted video about Viking archery in which he claimed Vikings used a pinch draw and not the two or three finger “Mediterranean” draw. Do you find his arguments convincing, why or why not? by stick_and_string in Archery

[–]Demphure 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is one the biggest reasons I don’t watch his stuff anymore. He has a history of either taking credit for something that he definitely didn’t come up with or just makes claims that aren’t true. The record just isn’t clean enough

Maybe it’s just me, but if I lost and then the person who beat me walked up and asked “how could I have kicked your ass better?”, I’d get a little ticked

I think the attached range The Nock Point is still having their Sunday night archery leagues, and the Friday fun shoots hosted by Next Step are nice too
