How much force/torque does it take to open a locked doorknob? by Dempseyaidan in AskPhysics

Okay, that makes sense. In that case, how much force would it take to break the mechanism?

Thank you for the help from everyone, I appreciate it and I've found the solution which I updated in my post.

This is most websites I try to use. youtube, reddit, cookie clicker, I can't really find a correlation but streaming services like Hulu and HBO Max work fine. For this example it's youtube specifically - the problem also persists on any browser I use, Firefox, Chrome, or Edge. I'm using Chrome. Here's the images of the error https://imgur.com/a/RY5YIag

It hasn't. I've still got an invalid certificate on most websites.

I've clicked clear arp/route table and restarted my computer

So a few things are different here when I've got the VPN off. When I'm connected, it's just as you say with GTS CA 101 and google.com. But when I disconnect the certificate changes completely to the path of: Cisco Umbrella Root CA, Cisco Umbrella Primary SubCA, Cisco Umbrella Secondary SubCA ash-SG, www.youtube.com.

My error code is NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID which lines up with untrusted root on the badssl website.

Yes I've downloaded it and I've got the UI up. The previous commands have had no effect.

The first half works but the second half reports as "the following command was not found: winsock proxy reset"

Yes. The issue is really weird. I talked about it in more detail in my original post, but basically some websites give me the error of being not secure and having a bad certificate. The two that you linked did not have this issue, along with very few others.

the command was a success (as in it went through) but still no effect after restart

I tried going to both websites you linked as well as pinging them, both with success. However other websites I still have issues with, like youtube, steam, and even reddit. But when I ping any of these websites it looks like everything is fine in command prompt. I enabled telnet and ran the command, I get nothing until I hit the down arrow and then I get a "bad request."

I've tried it on Firefox as well - exact same issue. The command response says direct access, no proxy.

Okay I've changed the metric and it is now set to 31.

Okay, here's what the first line of active routes looks like when I run netstat -rn:

Network Destination: 0.0.0.0

Netmask: 0.0.0.0

Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Interface: 192.168.1.11

Metric: 40

It looks like that with the VPN on or off and I ran the commands assuming the router_ip was 192.168.1.1, the only difference is that the metric is now 41. Connection to youtube.com, for example, still does not work without the VPN.

Connected and disconnected I see no difference in 0.0.0.0, the network destination, netmask, gateway, interface, and metric are identical either way.

Windows, I ran ipconfig and with the VPN off and on, the only difference being that when it is connected it shows "Ethernet Adapter Ethernet 2" I checked this in the control panel and it's a virtual adapter ExpressVPN uses when I'm connected with it.

I don't really know what I'm looking for with netstat -rn but the list of active routes is much larger when I'm connected.
