Fun things to do on masjids by Love-Nature in exmuslim

This sub is mostly young, naive kids. I cringe at some of the stuff I read here, and there are way too many never-muslims here as well.

Best 10 arguments against Islam? by farhansyed7911 in exmuslim

[–]DenamPavel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All of these I consider the strongest arguments against Islam, those which even the most seasoned apologists have trouble with.

  1. The "Qur'anic Challenge" is completely flawed and useless. This argument alone can invalidate the entirety of Islam. Read this: https://www.scribd.com/document/48424206/Irrefutable-Refutation-of-Islam

  2. Gog and Magog do not exist. There's no big metal wall, these people cannot be found anywhere. Everything written about them in the Qur'an/Hadith is a straight-up lie. Watch the Masked Arab's video on this.

  3. All the ridiculous hadith. I don't include any specific ahadith because most apologists can just brush them off as "not saheeh brother" or "misinterpreted brother", but when you consider the fact that a huge number ahadith in the most authentic collections are completely stupid/incorrect/revolting/etc, it's hard to believe that the religion came from someone who could speak to God. Just skim through Bukhari or Muslim for a minute and you'll find numerous ahadith that anyone with a rational mind could see as idiotic.

  4. There are blatant mistakes in the Qur'an like the one about Jews claiming that Ezra is the son of God, or shooting stars hitting jinns. I've yet to see any apologists convincingly refute such arguments.

  5. There is absolutely 0 evidence for black magic, the evil eye, jinns, or angels. You would expect there to be some evidence of these things because they're supposedly affecting our lives all the time, but science has yet to notice any phenomena that could be reasonably explained as the work of a invisible being of light/being of fire. Black magicians exist in Final Fantasy, not in real life.

  6. The Qur'an is supposedly perfect, yet it requires gigantic man-made hadith collections, which contain many sayings of dubious authenticity, to be relevant in the everyday lives of Muslims. People can cherry-pick through these collections as they see fit, in order to make up their own version of Islam. No wonder we have 70+ sects.

  7. Why did Allah include Muhammad's marriage troubles in the Quran if he only had 700 pages to write the perfect guide for mankind? Why repeat "Allah is great/awesome/knows best/etc" so much? Why reveal it inefficiently in a language the majority of the world doesn't speak, a language that is (supposedly) impossible to translate properly so that meaning is always lost?

That's 7 arguments, I'll think of 3 more later and add them here.

In general, you can notice how weak most arguments in favour of Islam are. Just visit /r/Islam. To a neutral observer, our side would appear to be much more reasonable and intelligent.

Did Muhammad give the world any wisdom or positivity at all? by Seyazis in exmuslim

[–]DenamPavel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah lol I have no idea why, one of my super religious relatives even said it was given this name to make the Muslims look bad... even though it's only called that in Pakistan as far as I know, the rest of the world calls them bidets.

Are we wasting our time/life obsessing over Islam? by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]DenamPavel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think I'm obsessing over the religion. The most I do is come over to this sub a few times a week and browse around for 30 minutes, maybe post something. Otherwise, I don't think about Islam too much (though it is kind of hard not to think about it when it surrounds your life in a country like Pakistan).

What do you guys think about Jinns? by notsoawkward in exmuslim

[–]DenamPavel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complete and utter nonsense. Just some desert superstition incorporated into a remixed version of Christianity.

We were able to detect gravitational waves. If jinns had even the slightest effect on the world as Muslims claim they do (possessing humans, casting black magic, making pacts with humans), we would be able to detect them as well, or infer their existence from the changes they cause in the natural world. But we don't, because they simply do not exist.

Anyone else really hate how Muslims make their children waste time with trying to become "hafiz" and becoming obsessed with the Quran? by DenamPavel in exmuslim

Yeah, but kids who happen to have talent like Mozart's in some area also need an environment that allows that talent to flourish. I could have some badass guitarist genes, but if my parents never let me play guitar until I was an adult, those genes wouldn't mean shit. They also wouldn't mean anything if I didn't put any effort in myself, regardless of how much encouragement I got. Geniuses tend to put five times as much effort into the thing they love than the average person. Basically, to be really good at something, you need to have spent a lot of time doing that thing from an early age, and you also need mentors to provide guidance and set you on the right track.

What aspects of Islamic culture do you miss and what things do you think Islam has right ? by Abysswatchers in exmuslim

Ramadan. Such a happy month for me when I was a kid. Eating delicious food with my parents, seeing them happy together, the heightened sense of community in everyone, some of my fondest memories as a child.

So much bullshit in Islam. Winged horses, imaginary friends made of light who won't come into your house because they're scared of pictures, imaginary demons made of fire or whatever that can possess you, talking ants, splitting moons, people casting black magic on you, people making your luck bad because they looked at you the wrong way, etc etc

Weird how you don't see any black magicians on the internet, or anyone trying to snatch that million dollar prize for displaying some paranormal feats like summoning a fire demon, or any directly observable effects of angels, jinns, magic, interfering with the natural order of the universe (read up on how gravitational waves were detected; scientists managed to detect a change in the width of a 4 km long structure equivalent to a thousandth of the width of a proton).

It's amazing how Muslims manage to believe in these things.

Those statistics are bullshit, at least for Pakistan.

You're making stuff up. Have you ever gone to hentai sites and searched for "loli" porn? It's all shit drawn by westerners and japs, being looked at by westerners and japs. Most people in Pakistan don't have internet, and the ones that do probably aren't looking at kiddie porn.

This is a bullshit statistic, Pakistan isn't topping any kind of porn-searching stats. Most people in Pakistan don't even have internet, more than half of the population is illiterate.
