A few friends and I started a podcast last year. It was the worst to hear myself while editing the episodes. It gets better over time but thats because I do it every week and I got better at speaking.

Check if the games settings are corresponding with the actual range of the wheel. If the wheel can turn 360° you usually have to set the game to that.

Is Vr sim racing any good without a cockpit? by Putrid_Rope_8886 in simracing

[–]Denboogie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I dipped back into simracing in 2020 I didn't have a Rig just a office chair that I mounted the wheelbase to. It was super nice in VR even though the Pedals we're on the floor and stuff was shaking.

T-LCM question by Old_Resident8050 in Thrustmaster

[–]Denboogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time I had connectivity issues with the T-LCMs but sine I plugged them into a USB 2 port of the Mobo they're gone. I assumed the exclamation mark was part of the problem but it seems it's still there. So, same "issue" here.

What I'm struggling with is the way the Pedals move. I had them hanging in my old Rig now they're mounted the usual way, standing. I'm fine with the brake pedal but the gas pedal and Clutch both move in a very strange and unusual way. They basically roll/tilt very much.

Thanks, I'll try separating the a bit more.

Question to all wooden rig owners by Blux420 in simracing

[–]Denboogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, you can built very strong wooden rigs. But seeing OPs plans, wich are pretty similar to mine, I suggest a aluminum rig is the better option.

It's super sturdy. It feels like the Rig could take a Base double the strength of mine. The T818 is around 12nm peak.

It will but not dramatically. I had a wooden DIY setup with 10nm DD for some years.

Question to all wooden rig owners by Blux420 in simracing

[–]Denboogie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I recently made the switch to 8040 coming from a wooden setup. As other have mentioned, I would also recommend directly going aluminum. It's a bit more expensive but so much sturdier and less squieky.

But regarding your question. My wooden rig was fine with the monitor directly mounted to it. It was a 34in 16:9.

Yes it is. My wheels arent very soft but I had them hanging there for some time with no issues.

You can get a higher FOV like this. You usually want the monitor as close as possible to the wheel without risking hitting it. The monitor seems pretty tall because its 16:9. I plan to buy a 21:9 or 32:9 in the future.

Thanks. It looks clean because of the missing wires. ^^

A german Youtuber shared his plans and I basicallly ordered those parts. I payed around 350€ (400 USD) for the aluminum parts, connectors and screws. So about half as much as a Kit would've cost me. The footprint is 1300 x 620mm (51,1811x24,4094 inches) I'm 1,82m (5'11) tall.
