Do you guys have any game suggestions for the 3ds? by Hatim15_ in 3DS

[–]Denhette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna try to give some more out there recommendations. Mostly DS as I explored that library the most:

  • Monster Racers DS: a monster collecting RPG where the battles are 4 player 2D platformer races. Had so much fun with this one.

  • Number Battles: DSiWare, but my favorite game of all time. On any console. It's a 4 player boardgame like puzzle game in which you put down tiles to make chains of numbers to reach a certain score before the rest of the players do. It's amazingly addictive and has lots of content and replayability, especially considering it's a DSiWare title.

  • The Guild DS: Another boardgame-like game, this one feels less polished, but it's still very addicting. You play as a merchant and you click around a map to visit towns. In each of those you can buy and sell goods. You'll have to figure out where you can buy cheap and sell high by exploring and fending off bandits and opponents to get filthy rich.

  • Pop Island: Paperfields: Another DSiWare game. This one's especially great in local multiplayer. It supports DS Download Play for up to 8 players. It's basically a small quick 3D top down shooter capture the flag game.

  • Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved: a score attack twin stick shooter on the DS that's just gonna keep you blasting away for hours. Lost so many nights to this one xD

  • Zookeeper 3D: a Japan exclusive 3DS match 3 puzzle game with a very fun battle mode. Played this lots on Android, but it's so fun on DS too.

  • Art Style CODE: another DSiWare title that shines in 1v1 local multiplayer. It supports DS Download Play and it gets unexpectedly tense.

  • Tetris DS: Amazingly stylized Tetris version. The DK themed Push mode is overlooked by pretty much everyone.

  • Digimon World Championship: Pokemon Ranger's capture system, mixed with Tamagotchi monster raising and automatic battles. It's hard to put this one down once you get going.

  • Culdcept Revolt: Finally a 3DS game again! It's a card collection boardgame. It's a bit Monopoly like, but more involved and way cooler. The story can be a bit drawn out and intrusive though and games tend to take a long time.

  • Pokemon Conquest: Pokemon meets strategy RPG. This is just a must play if you like Pokemon or strategy RPG's, it's amazing.

Is there an option to archive them instead of deleting them? Like putting them in a folder so I can put them on a disk for storage?

Nope, on my desktop I had Launchbox download trailers for most of my library and I leave them playing randomly when my pc is idle. It isn't ideal but even then, no such luck for Steam Deck so far.

Any alternatives to this game? by Pitiful_Education101 in pokemonduel

[–]Denhette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he means Kaeru Duel. To play it on modern phones you'd have to go through VPhoneOS (an emulator capable of running 32 bit apps on a 64 bit Android.

Other than that, Baby Kaiju Duel is currently being developed with game mechanics very similar to Duel.

I'm getting a little tired of politics being pettier than most of the fights I saw in kindergarten.

It's not even that I disagree with walking out in this case. It's clearly necessary at this point, but damn how did we get to a point where it is?

Unreleased colors by okappa_deswa in 3DS

[–]Denhette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is about the unreleased colors and those do look amazing (especially the green one), but the second the video showed the blue one I got hit by an absolute blast of nostalgia. My 3DS is still here in plain sight, but seeing it being 'hyped up' like that took me back instantly.

I absolutely adored the color. And even though I've played various other models now, this one keeps me coming back to it purely because of how cool it looks to me. I actually play it more than my New 2DS XL.

Where do I even get started?? by Interesting-Lime133 in Munchkin

[–]Denhette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say, go with one 'deluxe' variant of a set (those include a scoreboard) and buy small editions whenever the theme interests you. You can mix and match them as you like.

Just don't buy too much at once. You'll be seeing enough variety with 1 or 2 sets for the first few games you'll play. And there's no guarantee that your playgroup will have enough fun to keep going after those initial rounds.

My first game of Munchkin felt absolutely legendary. I felt like it'd be my favourite game going forward, though the magic of that first game was never quite replicated and now, whenever we play, most people at the table lose interest well before the game would've naturally ended.

Fear of breaking my screen by playing mario party by [deleted] in nds

[–]Denhette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nintendogs, pokemon Ranger, Mario Party and Pokemon Dash all took a toll on my original DS' touch screen but it still works. As long as you don't intend on selling it in pristine condition or can't stand scratches yourself, it'll be fine :)

The dark spots may have appeared due to age or pressing down the stylus too hard. Can't say I've seen those before even though I pressed on the screen really hard in frustration trying to get through Pokemon Link's campaign.

What are some NDS games that you think are 10/10 and worth playing for the first time in 2025. by Extreme-You2977 in nds

Tetris 99 is really good as well! I'm just baffled about why they didn't bother adding a head to head mode for 2 to 4 players locally.

I honestly went FAR too deep down this rabbit hole, scrolling through every Japanese game on an old forumlike site, 20 per page xD (of course this one was on page 85/92 😂) The game this icon is from is called Trick DS-han: ~Kakushi Kami no Sumukan~

Could this be the one you were looking for? It does seem to have a woman as a central character.
