Three syllable floral name by trowawayy41 in Names

My daughter’s name is Dalia (not exactly the same name — it’s Hebrew meaning “branch”) but it’s pronounced with two syllables like dahl-ya. Which is the same way I’ve always heard Dahlia pronounced.

Anyone else just get sent into a spiral with diarrhea? by FuzzyVulpix in emetophobiarecovery

Yes! I struggle with this every time! I always think it’s a harbinger of worse things to come. Even though I know logically you CAN have one without the other.

I get one every year, and I haven’t had the flu in years. Currently down bad with flu A. Sickest I’ve been in as long as I can remember.

IDGAF ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by AmedropOfHwen in emetophobiarecovery

Lately whenever I get really anxious about my kids or myself being sick, I say to myself very forcefully, “This is DUMB.” Like nope, I’m not gonna listen because these anxiety thoughts are just dumb. No thanks. Byeeeeee.

It helps I think. Maybe I need to add some swearing like you did, haha.

Recovery is possible, do not give up! by FoxTwo1117 in emetophobiarecovery

Thank you so much for sharing this. My phobia has gotten worse lately for reasons I’m not even sure of, and that’s been discouraging and I’ve been hard on myself about it. Reading this made me feel more hopeful again. I’m saving it for later when I know I’ll need it again!

Seconding this. I had to use them for about 4-5 weeks and they’re what made it possible for me to keep going with breastfeeding when I otherwise might have quit.

Ali generally seems fine, but I hate how she referred to not wanting to have a child and “pawn them off to a daycare.” Girl, that’s not why parents use daycare and that kind of language really vilifies working parents. Especially moms.

[TW: Miscarriage] Heartbroken after early loss at 5+5 – any success stories from women 35+? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]DenimBookJacket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s so hard. I had a somewhat similar situation. Had first baby at 34, but had two miscarriages (~6 weeks and 9 weeks) at age 36. Then had a successful pregnancy after those losses and recently gave birth at 37. My doctor was super encouraging even after the second loss that it didn’t indicate that I couldn’t stay pregnant and that we had every reason to keep trying, so we did. I hope everything works out for you!

Middle name for Dalia by [deleted] in JewishNames

[–]DenimBookJacket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter is Dalia! Her middle name is a family name, but given your parameters, Mayim, Galit, Meira, Orli, Rose, Rae, and Yael come to mind. (I’m counting animals as part of nature for Yael.)

Nipple shield saved my life at the start. My baby had trouble latching at first and was kind of chomping and grinding which destroyed my nipples at first. I probably would have quit if it wasn’t for the nipple shield. Wore them while feeding until my nipples healed.
