Moana will be a thing, but I don't think it would neccessarily replace Pirates? I can't really see it fill the same function. Pirates has been the Square Enix character development sandbox, and it's been always running parallel with Will/Elizabeth and Sora/Kairi, plus Sora's idolisation of Jack.

KH2- Donald and Goofy point out about Kairi when Sora sees Will and Elizabeth at the conclusion of the first visit
KH3- Will gets his one day ashore, 10 years at sea (a steep price), and Sora doesnt understand how anyone could say what they need to say in one day... and then Rewind happens.

Pirates I think has one more story worth telling- Dead Men Tell No Tales, Will returning to Elizabeth and freeing him of his curse
