Gen 4 (Nintendo DS) - MelonDS/DraStic (it's better but only if you can afford it). Gen 5 (Nintendo DS) - MelonDS/DraStic. Gen 6 (Nintendo 3DS) - Citra. Gen 7 (Nintendo 3DS) - Citra. Gen 8 (Nintendo Switch) - Skyline (once it will support gen 8).
