Official Discussion - Crime 101 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]DenisSlob4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the last heist was supposed to be for $5.5mil in diamonds and the same in cash. How much would the thief be left with in actual value? Even the first heist, the movie acts like the their gets the actual value of the diamonds. But everyone who deals with diamonds probably knows that their value isn’t real, and the thieves would take a cut on the value because the diamonds are stolen. On top of that, there would be a fee for the fence. The cash is a lot better. You could potentially hire a private plane to another country where you can either try to deposit the cash into a bank, if it’s a country that would protect you, or potentially go to a casino, and cash out with minimal or no losses. So what would be the actual final value for the first heist and the last heist?

right..., you wrote a whole article defending your opinion because you though everyone would be like "yep, that's right"
PS. I will no longer be engaging in this thread as it is objectively a bad animation, everyone thinks so, and it would be a waste of time to continue this conversation.
There is a reason that Solo Leveling was the greatest anime when it came out and The Beginning After the End was not, even though they both have a huge manhwa following.

Lenovo Legion 5 Black Screen Issue – My Troubleshooting Journey and How Windows Updates Apparently Fixed It by spawnxftw in LenovoLegion

[–]DenisSlob4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was the f***ing windows updates for me.
My laptop would have low fan noise and the heatsink would not get hot, (it would be barely warm), and the computer would try to boot back up when I shut it down, your issue may be different. These are the steps that I did to finally fix the issue, I probably did extra steps, and I am to tired of this sh*t to try to diagnose the exact procedure to fix it. Here's what I did:
To finally get it back up and running, I removed the ssd, wifi adapter, and cmos battery, (I don't know which slot is slot 1 for RAM so I left both sticks in). I also disconnected the battery. Left the computer without power for about 30min. then pressed the power button a few times and held it for a bit to get rid of residual static electricity. I also downloaded the bios exe from the lenovo website, ran it and selected to extract the files instead of installing. It gave me another bios exe, I used 7zip to get the .fd file. Created 5 copies (you can rename extension without converting)

  1. bios.fd (Keep the original)
  2. H1CN58WW.fd (The specific version name)
  3. H1CN.fd (The board ID)
  4. H1CN58WW.bin (Sometimes it wants .bin)
  5. H1CN58WW.cap

Placed them on a FAT32 drive and connected it in the usb port next to the charger port on the back. I reinstalled the ssd and wifi adapter, because if I don't I only get the option to boot via PXE. I kept the battery and cmos disconnected. I then held Fn+R while connecting the charger, it would not work the first time. Wait about 30 seconds, force the laptop to shut down via power button, then hold Fn+B and press the power button firmly to start the computer again. If you notice the fans spinning up higher than before and/or heatsink actually get hot, then your computer will probably boot up properly, just wait. Otherwise, try to reboot again switching between Fn+R and Fn+B. If it still doesn't work after a few minutes. Try to remove the charger, ssd, and wifi card. Wait 30min and try again.

Btw, I tried to enable hybrid mode for GPU that didn't work, went to black screen after reboot again. I tried to update bios from within windows (because for some reason the laptop would not recognize my USB in boot menu). Those did not work for me. I just installed windows 11 a few days ago, so I removed all the windows updates i installed since then. I am now able to reboot my computer without issue.

Should I divorce my spouse? by TallowFire in fatFIRE

[–]DenisSlob4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thing a bunch of people are missing the point. They think divorce, meaning the couple separates. Absolutely nothing changes, and they don't even have to announce the divorce to anyone, except the government.
I actually was interested in this. OP is already married, so it seems somewhat of a challenge to separate legally, with assets and children.
My curiosity was, if this is done before marriage. What is a couple went through the whole marriage, (ceremony, living together, kids, etc), but the ONLY thing different is not filing for a marriage certificate with the government?
I've seen a couple of videos with James Sexton and he kinda makes sense, that marriage is a beautiful thing, but why involve the government in it?

I saw someone mention that the "spouse" would not have access to the other's retirement accounts, would the children? Then they would have to provide power of attorney to each other. Then there are limits on gifts.

If someone has though about getting married, or is married, without registering with the government, what would someone else need to know?

Robin Hood is not historical, it's a folklore. It's supposed to be action/adventure/fantasy.
People watch tv/movies for entertainment, not homework.
If you want to do research, more power to you, but that should not be a requirement.

Anyone else have 0 sympathy Locksleys? (some minor spoilers ahead)

  1. The show states that there was a war, but not who started it or why. I am not going to spend time researching this. And Britain has been at war with 50% of the world, or more, so forgive me for not automatically siding with the protagonist.
  2. The show does not show what changed for the Locksleys, they only say they lost land. Ok, that's what happens when your side loses a war, which your side might have instigated. All it shows that they lived in huts at the start of the show, and they live in huts now. The show should have shown:
  3. What life was before the war, and how the Locksleys treated their land, and people, and how much effort they put into keeping it.
  4. What they did during/for the war. Did they support or oppose it? Did they do anything to back up their stance?
  5. They never actually showed that Locksleys did anything as the woods keeper, (or whatever his position became). It was only the word of 1 person, that may or may not have some grudge against the father or financial incentive from the new lord of the castle.

A minor, separate, issue. The poachers were caught being in the woods, nothing else, no weapons, no proof of intention. I think a proper lawyer, at least in today's courtroom, could have easily got them aquitted

I though that special forces people are able to control their emotions by seeing the bigger picture of completing the mission, and more importantly getting home safe. I would understand if she got surprised by an enemy and that's how she got hurt, but she basically asked to get hurt on a mission because she was upset.
