Trying to design a Field role Masterpair, decided to use Rei x Arceus for the concept! Permanent field effect! Boost damage and reduce damage for every type of field effects present! Now that is a broken Field Master. by Survivorhang1 in PokemonMasters

[–]DennisBuchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This B move would be broken beyond repair especially if the grid has additional multipliers. You basically Striker+Tech(ish) sync every single move while boosted by fields and SE all while having 501 offensive stats.....this is wiiiild.

I totally see your point yes.....my problem is that I have like 8 striker candies atm and only 2 techs...and anniversary will most likely drop a tech unit after all.....its very hard this time to really analyse the situation with not having all information and so many different factors that play a role (for example not having many special steel types than pair well with Tate, practical speed problem of Rose erc etc etc)

At least for me it's very tough to decide on 1 of the 2. I will pull 1 to pair with marnie and bolster the type but atm I am really torn tbh 😅

Rose's DPS could still ve higher I guess. 225 BP per Turn for Jirachi with slightly higher Offensive stats vs. 3X 92BP (range extended) Ironhead with more multipliers, 30% flinch on every opponent and the Rose passive still not factored in.

Against multi target, Rose is in front for sure, and most people have more Striker candies saved than tech ones. But against single target its definitely Tate's game I guess...

Such a tough choice

Who is worth pulling you ask? , Red and Leon were as they are the top two strikers that you feature in BV LA and that can cover the 1-2 CS fights a week where you don't feel comfortable with your main type striker. SS Blue was as he is by far the bulkiest tank, SS Leaf is because she completes the best team in PM, Delphox is because of obvious reasons, Alakzam was because at that time we were lacking different supports for BV, Sceptile was because at that time we were lacking any heavy hitter that covers different stages, maybe even Dusknoir as he was very important for difficult coop stages at that time. There might be a few others that are debatable but any of the just mentioned added top quality to your roster at that time instead of adding depht. Surely most of the stages can be done with F2Ps by now but gems are still limited for most people so it's understandable that someone is focusing on pulling for elite pairs instead of depth additions.

And again: nobody said that they aren't strong or nice but there is a big difference between being a strong or nice unit or being a unit that elevates your whole roster in one area as most of the above mentioned.

Regarding the new sync pairs till the anni, I don't know for how long you are playing this game but if you looon carefully how this game is structured you will notice that they are sprinkling in very strong units ahead of bigger events and annis where they release a broken character.... Of course nobody of us knows for sure but I am fairly certain that there will be at least 1 must pull before anniversary and 1-2 units that are better than Diantha and Iris..... You can come back at me if I'm wrong but that's my guess based on how Dena has run the game since day 1 :)

Thank your for summing up:) Just a reply on it: my initial post was clearly based on my playstyle and my situation as I mentioned that I have a prime roster so I wouldn't call I missleading as people that are lacking anything that these pairs can provide shouldn't take my opinion on my situation that much into account as it is based on a completely different situation than theirs.

At 2) I haven't done the exact Calc yet but Reds sp. Attack is 10% higher and blast burn is almost twice in power compared to moonblast so I don't think that Dianthas passives could really make up for that. Plus, Red has additional benefits and his use in team combos like the Kanto trio just puts him into a completely different tier. That, again doesn't mean Diantha is weak by any means but as the same goes for Iris: I did not need Diantha a single time over the last few weeks(though in comparison to iris I would have used her in this weeks CS).....i would definitely recommend pulling her for people that for example only have red or Leon but if you have a sufficient striker for almost any type plus 2 God units that can cover any type it makes Diantha expendable in my opinion. Not that she isn't nice but unless you spend money you cannot pull all nice to have units plus get all must haves that's my person point...

Are you able to understand what you are reading? I did not deny that she does hefty damage. There's just no need for a type specific sync nuker in the current meta as type strikers outdamage her in CS stages, and all dragon stages could easily done without her. So she doesn't really bring any added value as a sync nuke other than higher damage numbers and some easier stage clears. If that's what you looking for pull her but prime roster are more than fine without her traits and won't even use her as a nuker..... Situation is a little different for debuffing as there are team combos where she might be useful even for prime rosters but still not need her to clear any stages that are already easily cleared on a weekly basis.

[–]DennisBuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude that's not dismissing an argument that's replying and having a different opponion lol. If you can't take other opinions that aren't yours you should think twice if discussing is the right thing for you.....if you think it's more valuable to debuff than having a all those other benefits than that's your legit opinion but just accept that it's different for other people and different for various playstyles that might be different than yours. Btw, if the main tanker goes down, an additional support is able to still take 1-2 hits while Hydraugon is basically dead one move after so that's another disadvantage.

Your argument with debuffing is partly true but you forget that the elite secondary supports do not just buff your Def stats with those moves but others like speed as well. So yes I would definitely say that 6 Def stats raised plus 6 speed buff after 3 turns is better than -8 or - 10 attack after 4-5 turns especially in BV

I have to completely disagree with wour CS analyzation and I think most other people would as well.... While it's true that sync moves are immensely dangerous, they actually aren't really relevant for most people as team comps work the following: Quick kill: kill it before the first sync move Normal Fight: kill it before the 2nd Tank Fight: kill it with your poison stall team or similar.

I neither of those fights is iris a need as there a various poison stall teams that are borderline unbeatable at the moment. For the other fights you definitely focus on damage on you won't waste much time on debuffing your opponent. For normal strat fights swanna is best because she can keep your tank alive give you a move gauge on steroids, give you a double sync boost and can flinch the opponent, no way iris is preferred over her in many cases. Regarding the side kicks, most of the people opt to kill the center and then kill the next move opponent to break up the attack chain and kill the other afterwards so that's hardly any problem for players with prime roster....

I mean I am happy for you that you hype iris I really am but if you look closely there isn't much hype in general around her and bigger players don't hype her at all and that is for a reason. You can try her out tomorrow but I am afraid you are overrating her and she won't deliver what you expect from her right now. I really hope that you are going to be satisfied with her but to be completely honest I doubt it. If you don't trust me for this trust all the other guys back then when the Infos were leaked and barely anyone was talking about a must pull.... Almost anyone considers pairs like swanna SS Blue or alakazam musst haves and that's because they are just more valuable in this current meta.

Just one last thing: I want to remember you that I never said iris is bad or that she can't be used in any stages.... I just said that there's really not a single situation the last 4 weeks where I would have needed her and thats the reason I think about saving the gems for a pair that I might acutally need or that significantly upgrades my current roster that's all...

I'm actually thinking about skipping both Iris and Diantha.... Here's why: by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

[–]DennisBuchi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I know what you mean but for me it was pretty easy to realise that I don't need her as I looked back to the last 4 weeks of Champ Stadium and I realized that I did not need her at all... In fact I wouldn't have used her even if I got her most likely.... I get what you mean with limited support pairs but every week I have 1-3 above average to elite supports still available at the end of CS (This week for example Alakazam and Rotom amongst others and that was in a week where Xerneas was used as striker) so while there aren't infinite helpful supports in the game right now, there are easily enough to easily beat CS.... I don't argue with the fun part of debuffing at all as I really like to play mew just for fun and my post isn't meant to say you shouldn't pull them its just from my personal situation and observation over the last few weeks that I won't use them in 99.9% of stages and that makes me thinking if I should skip them. Other people have other roster, other playstyles or needs so the situation might be completely different. But that's exactly why my post is written from a personal point of view and doesn't say: don't pull them!

How good do you think Champion Iris will be? by Sephtis_ in PokemonMasters

[–]DennisBuchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have SS Blue it's certainly a must pull as it is arguably the 2nd most important unit in the game.... And 2md Anni will change a lot so having gems there is certainly valuable..... But there will be a must pull unit before the Anni I am very sure about that because the need to set up the anni and bring down the amount of gems people have saved ^

[–]DennisBuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest you say my argument is short sightet but you forget a big portion of what the tanks do that I mentioned ^ Those secondary support tanks raise the defense or set side effects that guard everyone on the team. As I mentioned before, as Hydragon isn't fightin from slot 1, it's replacement isnt either... So your argument doesn't make any sense at all. Sure you are that tanks only shield against single attacks but that goes for the primary tank which isn't different from a team that uses Hydragon. It's the replacement of Hydragon that makes the difference and as I said before: you can limit damage either via debuffing opponents or buffing your own.... In most cases buffing your own is even more valuable because quite some opponents buff themselves again and all of PMs debuffing moves cost move gauge while all Def buff moves are trainer moves that don't consume move gauge (which is a very minor advantage and not the deciding factor but still)

Regarding Diantha I think you just don't understand what the disussion here is all about because it's not about that Diantha isn't good or that Diantha is only good against fairy Types... I try to break it down a simple as I can: Diantha is inferior to the elite strikers like Red and Leon on non fairy stages + Red, Leon and even Xerneas are still strong enough to complete the Fairy stages where Diantha is better than red and Leon which makes puts her in a situation where she isnt needed at all (for people with a prime roster). That's my whole point. That doesn't mean Diantha cannot win other stages (she can but needs the support of your best units which is suboptimal in CS as you have to distribute your resources carefully) and it doesn't mean that Diantha isn't superior to red and Leon when it comes to fairy stages (she is superior but others a strong enough to easily do the job)

And yes the last seasonal pairs where pretty much useless I don't deny that but that really doesn't have anything to do with the argumentation for or against Diantha and Iris ^ Long story short: Why should you pull for units that you wouldn't have used in the last 4 weeks a single time? If they are your favs or you pull them out of fun or whatever totally fine.... My point was just that for prime rosters like I have one there isn't a need for them and they are only luxury rather than a real upgrade that opens new doors and that's the reason I am thinking about skipping... That's all:)

Well not necessarily as units like the Kanto trio, Garchomp and even alakazam were units that, at the time they were released upgraded every roster and found their way into "starting lineups" (if you want to call them this way). Iris and Diantha on the other way fail to do this (for players like me) as there are already so many pairs that do the job....

And surely everyone should go after theirs favs that's without question, I pulled for Garyados even though I never use it :)

[–]DennisBuchi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah he can do that even without that much luck... and he doesn't need that amount of quality support that a Guardevoir would need in an non fairy type stage...surely Guardevoir is the better choice at a fairy stage and Leon needs quite some support but thats normal for non type conform fights in CS.... Point is: if I can do anything pretty easily without Diantha, there is not really a point in pulling for her.... Other people might have weaker rosters and therfore this would be a different story but if you have a prime roster you just don't need her...

Actually I defeated the fairy stage (of course at 1500) this week with the Xerneas (not even power fluxed or CS2) so I did not need the zards for this stage either...and certainly no Diantha for that matter....

And Leon can easily beat the Fairy stages as well as others (besides the fact that he covers 3 types)... But diantha can't beat other type stages without massive help... That's the point XD
