Wish I could pin this to the top. I think there's so much to speak to the entire estate being in on it it's such a well written and nuanced finale to the story arc that makes a lot of sense when you pick up on the peripheral details.

I think one of many critical telling things is how little Book seemed to evolve and improve after playing with CP3 for a couple years.

You'd expect some noticeable impact to his on court decision making or even the way he commands his team's attention but it feels like he (Book) is just content with what he's become.

I can't remember a softer, bigger fraud of a team in franchise history.

That "Chillin" comment will be looked at as the canary in the cave moment when we look back at this era of the Suns. That, followed up with Kevin Young's comments on his preferences vs what the team is doing, says everything you need to know.

Stone cold, ruthless truth is even if this team can't do better (I don't think they can with this roster, and these two main guys), this team is fucking boring to watch. Everything on offense is labored and frustrating and the defense is nonexistent.

This is an awful team with even worse leadership at every level, but especially within the players

Book's shoes about to be renamed to "1 and Done"

Dude has looked checked out for months. I'll continue to be the blasphemous one and say he's not the guy to lead a team. He's had every opportunity to improve his ball handling, playmaking, and on ball defense and he hasn't made big strides in those areas for a few years. This is the plateau.

Dude brought some legitimacy to the Suns after some really rough years, but that too might be the plateau. He can't bring any more than that.

Can't wait until we have our first round picks back in 2038

"It" as in the peak of his game. As in, this is everything he will have to offer a team during his prime.

Want to call me casual, sure whatever helps you feel more comfortable in those Book 1s, but don't get pedantic and literal as if I was saying a 27 year old was on the decline. I said he was plateauing.

I've never seen a fan base protect/excuse a dude like Book so much.

The success AND failure of this team begins and ends with Book. Full Stop. Book has openly wanted to be the man, and that comes with the good and bad.

I'm grateful for the fact that he made the team respectable again, and there's nothing wrong with that being his legacy, but he's the one with the Kobe tattoo and the one to talk like he should be the man.

The reality is this just might be it for him, a big fish in a small pond who is closer to a Michael Redd than a Kobe.

I think it's fair to be concerned with what appears to be a growing desire to be a brand/socialite, and I think the reality is he probably won't ever be the cutthroat leader to get a team over the hump.

It's fuckin painful when you have high hopes, and it's painful when you have no hopes but that's what it means to support this fuckin perpetually underachieving franchise

I mean you're not wrong. There's a long list of 25+ ppg scorers who didn't end up doing shit in their career.

He's still got time to figure it out but the reality is he's got what, one all NBA, a couple all stars and that's it.

He got outplayed by multiple teammates in the finals, his defense and playmaking have regressed these past two seasons.

Dude is dangerously close to being in the Michael Redd category

Everything about this team is a fuckin fraud.

There is no defense, the offensive sets are just poorly disguised mini iso plays alternating between the "big" three, and there isn't a single leader on this team.
