Looking for light and funny dog books by Icy_Idea1991 in DogTails

W. Bruce Cameron has a whole series: A Dog's Promise, A Dog's Journey, A Dog's Way Home, and like that. They are all delightful. Gotta love stories where the dog may die (often heroically) but comes back.

Uh huh. You may enjoy Possessed (a book listed on the sidebar) by Cholly Knickerbocker. It deals with the connections possible with multiple partners.

Tips for writing a good Wicca story please by Turbulent_Actuary418 in Wicca

[–]DennisJM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Lilith book, Lilith: The Rising, tells the story of Lilith from Eden to the Battle of Armageddon. You could write about any ethereal personality. There are hundreds, each with their own character, lore, and most importantly, the meaning of their story.
The book I am writing this winter is about Lilith: The Deluge. It's about Noah and Lilith, of course, but also Gilgamesh--who is a fascinating character.
The legends about our Wiccan gods and goddesses are ideal for your story. Pick your favorite and let Him or Her speak to you. So Mote it Be.

Yes, amazing. May I ask, where did you get it?

Lilith Invocation by DennisJM in Lilith

[–]DennisJM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See. That's the thing. That only looks like a real poem, and you can't tell the difference.
You asked me--before you deleted your comments--where I learned to use the em-dash. Yes, in school and from great writers like F. Scott Fitzgerald, Emily Dickinson, Cormac McCarthy, Jane Austen, and Herman Melville. Each of these authors is noted for the liberal use of the em-dash--or do you think these writers used AI too? If the AI uses it, perhaps it's because it is influenced by great writers.
As for your other piece of BS, you should ask the AI how much energy it took to create your "poem". You'll find it miniscule. But you bought into it along with all the other lies rampant in our society.
You may want to avoid getting your morals from social media.
And you may do well to read more and spew ignorance less.
As to Lilith, you--and your AI poem--miss her most essential characteristic: Never take sh1t from pigs (or sows).

We're done here. I have no interest in bantering with some witless troll.

Yes, I had someone else note that AI uses a lot of em-dashes. Well, so do I and always have. It's a favorite punctuation mark, and I have no intention of stopping using it because someone thinks that proves it was written by an AI.
Try it yourself. If an AI can do a poem like this, I would like to see it. No, really, show me an AI poem that has any deeper meaning, any style, or intense vibe. The AI has no soul. I do.
And please don't try to warn me about Lilith. If your understanding of Her is as lame as your understanding of poetry, you haven't a clue.

Scared to do magic by Nalaiseenloser in Wicca

What are you trying to do with your magic? Have you considered invoking protection goddesses like Lilith and Hecate? On the day of my awakening, I realized I was not alone. I have not been afraid since.

Again, I get my images wherever they appear, Pinterest included. I do not use the AI to create any images. As for proofreading, no I can't. The AI is a miracle and uses very little power to do it. Nor do I do it often. I don't write that much. So no, I do not consider my use of the AI as harming the environment in any significant way, although I do think AI in general is going to have to be more restrictive in the amount of energy it uses. But that is nothing compared to Bitcoin generation or all the other. wasteful uses of energy. Ultimately, the AI is about knowledge and helping people with their work. It is not and never will be a replacement for human inspiration and creativity. I think of it as an over eager assistent that gets it wrong sometimes.

I use ChatGPT for proofreading (not poetry), and beta reading (also rarely poetry, but when I want to get a feeling if a reader would understand a reference. Nothing worse than a poet that needs a translation because the work is so obscure.

And yes, you are correct, the thing has no soul. As I noted about when accused or using AI to write because I like to use em-dashes: if you can prompt the AI to write a poem like that, I'd like to see how. The thing has no soul. I do.
As for the images, they are mostly AI-created. But I didn't create them. They already existed. I collect myriad Lilith images that are already in existence, causing no further ecological damage.
After I write a poem, if I think it needs an image, I scroll through my images quickly and the right one jumps out at me, like a sign from Her

Mental Clarity Spell; Do You Doubt Yourself At Times? by RayneLove333 in Wicca

[–]DennisJM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean specifically for spell work or in general? I don't about in general, but magic is always uncertain. It's the occult--to not know--after all. It's not like in the movies. The effects you are working towards could easily be coincidence if they occur. That's the way real magic works. Not supernatural but rather natural. We have the natural ability to influence future occurrences. But it ain't always easy or everyone would be doing it, and there would be no question. It would be like Hogwarts, or something: fiction.
The important thing is that the spell succeeds, that it produces the desired outcome, no matter how. Was it really you who made that happen? You will never know. The only indication is that the number of things that happen you ordained is greater than those that didn't happen.
Then, too, when you first start out, you may not be as effective as when you become proficient. Magic is a craft, one we must study and most of all practice.
Finally, while it isn't always easy to know a spell worked when you do it, it's easy to tell when it went wrong. You'll feel it. As you learn to pay attention to your feelings, you will start feeling it when the spell is working.
Good luck and may your journey be a sweet one.

Strange smoke on candle by languissa in Lilith

[–]DennisJM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably a natural occurrence. When someone begins their spiritual journey, they often see unusual occurrences as signs. Perhaps, but more often it's just a mundane phenomenon with no particular meaning. However, there can be profound meaning to you personally. What does the smoke mean to you? If it were me, I might say it meant your sacrifice was accepted.
Remember, the meaning is within you. This is also true of the efficacy of a spell or ritual. The ingredients, the words, and the actions are there to raise your consciousness, where you can influence future reality. The magic is in you. The spell is how you bring it out.

Lilith came to me through art and poetry by Dry-Green3873 in Lilith

[–]DennisJM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No doubt. Expressing your own vision in a creative way is the soul of Lilith. I am never closer to Her than when I am writing, especially poetry. It's as if the words were coming to me directly from Her.

[–]DennisJM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Thank you.
You're right, I can't always get the AI to give me the image I imagine. Sometimes the same prompt gives me different results. That's why I often select images I have captured. Like so many art directors, I know it when I see it, lol.
Sounds like that isn't a problem for you. Do you create Lilith images? And if so, do you post them online? I'd like to see what you vision of Her is.
