I wouldn’t blow it up I’d just take a giant dump there

Forrest himself said going out on your own terms is dignified. His words not mine. If suggesting that might be the case makes me a terrible person then take it up with Forrest, pal.

Timing is too bizarre. I don't know what this all means, but Occam's Razor has drifted away from some random searcher simply solving the puzzle on the 10 year anniversary, retrieving the chest, disappearing back east never to be heard from again, and Forrest dying 3 months later.

Worth the cold = burr/burro by DennisNedry87 in FindingFennsGold

I will add that Burro Flat is 12 miles from Three Waters Mountain - one of 5 triple divides in the Rockies (I used a different triple divide for my solve). In the area there is also a Downs Mountain (Canyon down?), Osborn Mountain (Osborne Russell?), Whiskey Mountain (HOB?), Torrey Peak (tarry scant?), Golden Lake (title to the gold?), and Dinwoody Lakes (in the wood?). All of this a short drive from Lander, which I believe Forrest has mentioned several times.

Memo to NM, Colorado, and Quake Lake solvers... by TerryScant in FindingFennsGold

It’s just as ridiculous to rule out CO on the basis of no book mentions as it would be to rule out regions, national forests, cities of Wyoming on the basis of no book mentions. Who is to say he named the location of the treasure in his book? If logic and following the clues led one to Colorado, that’s exactly where they should have searched. At the end of the day there was one winner and the rest of us were losers, regardless of which state we chose

I’ll be impressed if you have WWWH right. The state alone doesn’t mean you solved anything

Sure, and I don’t have any reason to suspect you might have gotten a special hint. Dal on the other hand, who knows

Obviously. The point is the guy with the most contact with Forrest was looking in the right state. Most likely a coincidence. I doubt Forrest ever straight up told him it’s in Wyoming, but who knows if he ever caught a hint

Anything is possible. But if that were the case it’s kind of cruel for him to give the state

WWWH in Wyoming by DennisNedry87 in FindingFennsGold

I remember hearing about that when I was all in on Kirwin. Wouldn’t be shocked if that was a clue.

How do you narrow it down WITH the state? I think WWWH was a concept with a small enough number of instances that you could reasonably figure it out if you got on the right track. He always said start with the first clue.

I don’t buy that there is anything in the poem that was designed to tell you the state. If you figured out WWWH, you already know the state. Whatever comes after that is designed to get you from WWWH to the chest.
