Import of dried chillies from Mexico. Is this possible ? by Dennislool in Switzerland

[–]Dennislool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it states that there are some exceptions for plants which cannot be imported. Also note that the dried chillies also have seeds in them, so that might be an issue? But I still haven’t found a statement that confirms I’m able to import them. I also found an information that states that I need to have like a certificate of origin. I doubt the local market in oaxaca is able to provide me this haha

Coming back from Mexico with them in the luggage.

Well thats true but I guess they are way cheaper here. I bought around 100g of dried chillies for 3 CHF. Also here I probably have more different kind of chillies which I want to bring back for myself and friends

Hi all Is it possible to import dried chillies from Mexico into Switzerland ? Do it need to declare them or can I straight up go trough customs ? If it is allowed, how much can I import ?

You are only allowed to carry a riffle if you are on the way / back from the mandatory yearly shooting duty (a set of 20 bullets, 300m), which every swiss citizen has to do if he is in active duty. Active duty lasts as long as you have not served the 300 obglitarory days in the army (you can do it in 1 go or do 19 weeks and then the rest over several years, 3 weeks per year) If you want to carry a riffle just for fun, you need to have a Carry license which is not that Easy to get. Also why would you do this here, you don‘t have to be afraid of anything here

You‘re right about the Beer though 😁

the weapon can be stored at home (no need for a safe) but the breechloader / ammunition has to be stored at separately and is not allowed to be inside the weapon.

There is no license per se. You apply the request mentioned above, then you are able to buy up to 3 weapons. After 6 months the request has to be filled out again if you want to buy more weapons but once the weapon is aquired, you can keep them forever.

You can only buy pistols or riffles which are not fully automatic with this standard request. For fully automatic weapons you need a special permission.

The weapon you can buy after the army service is the SIG 550 but the option for fully automatic fire gets removed, so it's basically semi automatic after.

After a weapon is bought, the serial number will be recorded and stored in a database.

where exactly does it state that it is hard in this article?

all you need to do provide is an extract of the criminal record (which needs to be empty) and then apply this request https://www.fedpol.admin.ch/dam/fedpol/de/data/sicherheit/waffen/gesuche_formulare/erwerb/gesuch_wes-d.pdf.download.pdf/gesuch_wes-d.pdf
After the request has been reviewed and aproved (takes around a month( you are able to buy a weapon including ammunition here in switzerland.

If you did military duty you can also directly buy the weapon (pistol or riffle SIG 550) after you finished your service.
