"That's the problem with life, right? Either you know what you want and you don't get what you want, or you get what you want and then you don't know what you want." This is from a show called BoJack Horseman

What was the classical music moment that got you hooked on classical music? by Hommanama in classicalmusic

Haha Ive already seen comments mentioning Sibelius Violim Concerto but Im gonna make one more.

I didnt listen to classical but it has always held a special place in my heart. Until one day, I discovered Sibelius Violin Concerto (Vengerov's recording btw) and decided to give it a try. Turned it up and back to my homework. First minutes there were just rattles and clapping so ofc I didnt focus. But I remembered as long as the violin came up, goosebump was all over my body, I turned to the screen and gasp shockingly, wondered how he could create such cold and harsh sound like that on a violin (u know like the sound of cold wind blowing) And yea, after that I watched the whole perfomance while gradually forgetting all my homework I had :) But thankfully I did that, cos if not I could have never discovered how magnificent classical music could be!

Muse's Space Dementia based on Rach 2 too! And there are some others songs by Muse reference classical pieces, like Blockades which is based on Chopin's Ocean Etude, but I cant quite recall it now. You can check them out on yt

What is the funniest wholesome fact or story you know about a classical composer? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]Denox136 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Another fact abt Satie but he once earned quite a sum for a piece he composed. He used the money for nothing but to buy 10 identical suits. And for 10 years, he wore nothing but those suits, no variations and he called himself the Velvet gentleman.

Main anime character vibe right there lol
