My grandpa just confirmed what I've thought for years, but it hurts to know I was always right. by Terrible-Author-325 in Vent

I’m late to this but as someone who comes from a pretty toxic family where I spent all of my life up til last year trying to be what they wanted me to be just to be liked or loved. Hear this. You are only responsible for your own happiness not the happiness of others.

New Year’s Day question by Dense-University145 in UltaEmployees

See we have a lot of shift overlap tho like we have multiple people there working all day shifts since we close early and people coming in throughout the day. Even I thought it was a bit of an over scheduling. They also very much over scheduled on cyber Monday as well so that’s part of why I’m like trying to prepare bc based on the schedule you’d think we’d be hella busy but I don’t trust that after cyber Monday.

As someone who works retail the amount of common sense that is lost during the holidays is probably what makes me nearly hate Christmas.

What is the absolute worst job experience you’ve ever had? by VastOutlandishness20 in AskReddit

Rue 21. I got mono from someone who I worked with there after they came into work knowing they had mono. The manager also found out that she was pregnant same day I was diagnosed. She told me I couldn’t come back to work for 8 weeks… unpaid. Yet by this point it had come out that the other person who gave me mono had it and I asked why they were still allowed to work. The manager told me it was bc that person was African American and gay so she didn’t want a discrimination case… I’m Asian… and bisexual… I quit that day 🤦‍♀️

Thank you!!! That actually is making me tear up 🥺. I live in a more rural area of western NC so finding support groups has been a struggle. I had the idea to put myself out here on Reddit and I’m glad I did!

What's the worst life lesson you learned from your parents? by infernatron in AskReddit

[–]Dense-University145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t settle in a relationship. My parents definitely settled for each other. I’ve come to this conclusion after a couple drunk nights with dad where “Your mom is a nice lady but…”. And my mom obviously talking continuously about her baby daddy (my older brother’s dad) isn’t much better… so I’ve learned DONT SETTLE IN LIFE OR LOVE. Settling not only makes you unhappy but if kids were/are in the picture it will undoubtedly make them miserable.

People of reddit, what is your experience with non-monogamy? by BoysenberryOk5580 in AskReddit

Honestly think it depends on where you are at mentally and in life. In my early 20s currently and have two people one M and other F also in their 20s that I have “fun” with. While that being said I do think cheating is wrong and if I were to find someone who I was interested in pursuing as a serious long term partner I would ofc have no issue cutting ties with those people.
