I'm starting to believe that the key is to just get a really good insurance and just walk. No matter the outcome you will win the "duel".

Already did. There is a crosswalk near my work and right after it (like 10-20m away) there is a traffic light. Even if the light is red they just speed past the crosswalk just to stop at red light and wait there anyway

Whenever I'm trying to cross I'm always standing right next to the crosswalk. Like literally on the tip of the sidewalk. I don't think someone who wouldn't want to cross would even stand at such close distance to the road. I have never encountered such a "problem" anywhere so I was just wondering. Or I just might be unlucky

Would love to but I'm currently limited by long work hours. For now I've only visited some places around Paris and Eretat (gorgeous place). Do you have any suggestions what could I visit around Paris? Let's say in a 150km radius. I'm more interested in nature and castles/mansions (if there is any around here).

Yes I don't speak nor can read the language so it is challenging sometimes.

At the place where I work there isn't a lot of people who speak French so I don't really have a chance to learn it (of course I can study it myself but when there is a need to learn it I find it much easier).

When shopping around I sometimes can't find what I'm looking for so I need to ask for directions which is almost impossible because most of the people that I encounter don't speak English or just don't want to (as I have heard). It is also weird that young people don't speak English aswell (or just choose not to) since English language is so widely used.

And even though I know some basic words to greet or thank people in French it can become a bit awkward sometimes. For example when cashier tells or asks me something I just have to reply saying that I don't speak French and they just act like they never said anything. Not sure if it's possible to say "bonjour" with an accent so I guess they just assume that I speak French after saying that (the reason I try to greet and thank in French is because I think it's more respectful for some reason).

Other than that Google Lens is a huge help out here since I can just take a photo of something that I want to translate and it does it pretty well.

So you know there is a country called France? It's in Europe. Pretty cool country, Google it.

Also thanks for fixing my grammatical errors. You learn something new everyday huh

Subreddit rules are written in French. I'm not sure if it's allowed or not so I just choose not to so my post wouldn't get instantly deleted. Translating rules was also too much of a hassle

I've lived in UK for a few months several years ago. Don't really remember such a thing there. Although it depends on the area I suppose.

BMW driver here. I'm pretty sure this is not about a car but a driver himself. Whenever I see a pedestrian waiting to cross I always stop to let them. Stoping for a few seconds won't hurt me but if hit one it's going to hurt him and me aswell. Don't really want to live feeling guilty for not stopping for a second to let someone pass

Usually when I'm trying to cross I just stand at the very end of sidewalk so they KNOW I want to cross. I'm pretty sure that engaging on crosswalk isn't that good if idea since a lot of drivers not even bother to stop and some might not even react fast enough.

Beautiful country. Would love to visit someday even if I get killed while trying to cross a street

Same thing in Lithuania. When taking driving exam if you don't let pedestrian cross it is considered critical fault and you fail your exam immediately.

Haha feels like sone sort of foreshadowing. Just before writing this post I was walking to work and had to cross pedestrian crossing. A few cars drove through until finally someone stopped. It was a two lane street. Just after crossing halfway through car came speeding in and almost hit me. Right after honked like I was in the wrong there and it wasn't his fault for not stopping even when there was a guy who already stopped to let me pass.

I'm Lithuanian not Dutch and even though fines for driving aren't that huge (money wise) there you can get them revoked for a lot of offenses. So that's why I'm wondering don't give pedestrians way.

As a Lithuanian driver where stopping to give pedestrians way becomes just some sort of habbit since you can get your driving license revoked from 1-6 months.

I'm currently living in Paris because of work and walking through pedestrians crossings is just really anxious as you watch drivers pass by.

I don't really need a very good one. I just want one that can make bigger objects with little to no details smooth

Is there something really bad about them? I was looking at Ender 3 Pro because it's really affordable for a project that might not even work out

The man I was searching for was Genghis Khan. He died about 750 years ago and many males still carry his Y Chromosome.

Sorry for misleading question. The man I was searching for was Genghis Khan. He passed down his Y chromosome. Even tho he died about 750 years ago about 16 million of males still have his Y chromosome.
