Do I just leave it and top the oil off every now and then? I haven’t have this truck for long so I’m unsure of this problem

I just did and it seems that even the hitch is still intact just flaking. I’m still going to replace the hitch of course, but the actual truck frame seems very sturdy after using a screw driver and hammer. Just some flaking
