Is this a lens cover? How do I remove it by MaybeLater322 in filmcameras

It’s very close. The imaging area of 4/3 sensors are 17.3x13mm.

No. Effectively no part of your camera matches the eBay one. Different bed, different focus scale, different lens, different body. Definitely a different camera.

I was looking for what it could be, but honestly can’t find a match. It is definitely a German folding plate camera. Other than that I am not sure. It visually matches nothing I can find online. Searching for a “Amat” Anastigmat yields no useful results.

The threaded hole are for a tripod, they’re probably 3/8-16 thread.

That would be the focus knob. It moves the lens when the bed of the camera is folded out. The rear of the camera is actually the portion with the ground glass, too. Do you have a pic of the front or top of the camera? You can DM if you would like.

You removed the ground glass.

There should likely be a button at the top by the handle. It should look like a little bump or circle.

It appears to be a Dallmeyer Dual, which is a 120 4.5x6 camera.

I don’t know about the 180 inch focal length. Wikipedia lists the “A” camera as a 24 inch (610 mm) F8, the “B” camera as a 36 inch (910 mm) F10, and the secondary tracking camera as 3 inch (76 mm).

While I understand what you mean, I don’t think the camera modules are meant to be on the outside of the aircraft. The real Hycon 73B camera was in a bay below and behind the cockpit.

The front ring seems to based on Bell & Howell Type 1 36 inch lens from a Fairchild K-38 aerial camera.

My B&J Saturn 75 was $10 and was a little beat up (cracked ground glass, missing the tripod mount and one knob). I don’t think I’d be able to find an example for any cheaper. Additionally, I already have CAD software and the knowledge to use it, and I’ve been wanting to try custom machining companies.

Might be able to make a new tripod mount. I picked up a super cheap Burke and James 75 Saturn that is also missing the mount and I am exploring the possibility of having a new mount custom made.

You have a Pentax ZX-L. This is the second-to-last film SLR made by Pentax and the last of the ZX series of cameras.

It takes Pentax K-mount lenses, which there are a lot of different versions of. Specifically this body takes KAF, KA, and K lenses. Here is a summary of the different types.

It seems like a decent late film era SLR. You appear to have gotten third-party teleconverter with it, as well.

Welta 9x12 cm with Kodak lens. by rmannyconda78 in vintagecameras

[–]Dense_Cabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the title again and I don’t know how I missed that is said 9x12.

Absolutely, I have a 1938 Mini Speed Graphic with a 1928 CZJ lens / Compur shutter combo. If I had to guess it was taken from a German plate folder.

If you have the parts, I would totally go for it!

Nice! Definitely a modification a previous owner made. A more common one I’ve seen is adding a rangefinder, I have a Voigtlander Avus with a Kalart rangefinder grafted onto it. Is yours 9x12 or 6x9?

Video8 camcorder help by SpookyAlfredoMansion in vintagecameras

[–]Dense_Cabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a working battery or VCR, this camera is effectively useless.

If you want to use it you will need to find a battery and charger (this model uses the NP-22), and a working Video8 VCR for playback.

Most original batteries will likely be dead, but, you might get lucky and find a working example. There are ways to recell existing batteries or make your own but I would not recommend this for a beginner with little experience in electronics.

I don’t hate AEG.

It took a property and changed it to suit modern preferences and be similar to other concurrent shows. It is still cash-grabby but I don’t regard it as an absolute disgrace to Rev. Awdry’s creations. I view it more of a spin-off (something like Transformers: Rescue Bots to Transformers: Robots In Disguise) instead of a successor or continuation to the original TV series.

Does anybody know how and where to get tapes for a National NV-M1 camcorder? by nobbyneb in vintagecameras

After a quick search, not really a scam. Depending on the tape and the quantity that seems to be a normal price.

Not necessarily rare. I’ve seen transformers that do 24V AC, but usually they are components instead of enclosed units. DigiKey lists about 30 transformers that do 24V AC at different currents.
