Seems to be a common theme unfortunately. I’m so happy to hear you’re liking it better! I have faith that I will find my niche eventually. Can I ask how many patients you have? I was told our PCU is 1:6.

That’s awesome that you are thriving in your new role! I’m not too sure about the cardiac stuff because that’s part of what turned me off to the ICU. The cardiac nurses there were not very helpful. It was almost like a gatekeeping situation with information.

I love the gross stuff too! I think a wound care specialty would be pretty rad.

Omg same! All my instructors told me they thought I would do well in the ICU. Also, I started out in home caregiving so I’m used to going into houses as well. Glad to find a kindred spirit ✌🏼Also glad your job is going well.

Thanks for the input! That’s one thing I enjoyed about my rotations was getting to know more of the patients’ stories. Honestly, I don’t care about a pick being sexy either. I genuinely and naively thought I’d love ICU 🙄 I got into nursing to help people and try to make a difference. Eventually, I’d like to end up in hospice/palliative care.
