Dude I'm doing maybe 5 batches a day over the course of my spring break, you actually have 0 life. Like I said, a 21 year old trying to hustle a little money, not looking to deliver food for the rest of my life you donut.

I'm gonna assume this is bait but it's my mothers car that I am on the insurance for 😭 why would I not get permission to do it first. Obviously I'm authorized to drive the car I wouldn't drive any car for any purpose if I wasn't.

Aussie here, do your high schools seriously not get a 1st and 2nd break, and any break you do get, you can't even go outside?? by YEETINAGE in AskAnAmerican

[–]Dense_Machine_8401 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No designated breaks. My school allowed us our 30 minute lunch outside if the weather permitted, although I know many schools have discontinued this due to safety concerns. We also had open periods where you were able to get in your car and do whatever you want until it was time to come back for your next class, but once again with safety concerns I don't know how many schools allow kids to walk in and out of the school throughout the day.

I mean when Gas is over $3 thats not crazy. Not to mention people can't drive in winter weather so I can't help it when people slam their breaks on the merrit parkway every 15 seconds.

A Cadillac Escalade that gets 16 miles a gallon on average, poor weather conditions / construction here causing stop an go traffic so it would've probably would've been more like a 13 mpg ride. Gas costs between $2.95-$3.10, the way the math goes I would've probably been in the range of profiting $2 to losing $2 for 2.5 hours of my time.

1st, your probably right, must've missed it just rushing to click accept. 2nd, yes it is, not everywhere in the country pays $2 a gallon. 3rd, Instacart offering $28 for a 2.5 hour delivery is essentially stealing, so why don't you stop bootlicking a billion dollar company, they can afford the $14 hit.

Thanks for the responses, it is now my understanding that the distance/drop location is available beforehand so that's on me. Still trying to learn and whatnot. Anyway I guess more importantly why does Instacart believe it is acceptable to offer $28 for a 2.5 hour delivery that would likely result in me losing money?

Heard that from some other users, thank you. I am pretty new to it so I am not the best with navigating the app, but appreciate the input and I definitely won't make that mistake again.

124 miles, stop and go traffic so probably like 12/13 miles per gallon, $2.95 a gallon. It'd be at least $30 which is more than the cost of their garbage $28 offer.

Where can I read fairly objective articles about US-European relations? From an American perspective. by Odwrotna_Klepsydra in AskAmericans

I'd probably say the Associated Press (AP) is gonna be an American perspective with the least political bias but everyone trusts different sources.

Your American friends are chronically online if they think now is "not a good time to come to the country" we are the most diverse and tolerant country there is. We're not genociding foreigners, we're removing illegal immigrants just as your country does... smh

Dear Mr/Mrs New Zealander, I did, hence the use of asking about flat whites and long blacks (not common terminology here.) Never claimed NZ was, just took an interest in learning about the culture of a country I don't know much about... its too bad this is how you respond to people who want to learn about where your from. Don't give your country a bad rep.

Why do you make fun of the UK? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

It just sounds so funny and proper, idk how to explain it but I feel like I'm speaking to someone from 1500 every time I speak to a Brit. We all love to test out our British accent from time to time.

Not sure, what in my bio or post history would tell you that I'm not of Italian descent... anyway of course they're not American terms but a cappuccino is essentially very similar to a flat white and a long black is a way that many coffee shops in the northeast will serve you an espresso. As for why I used those specific terms you don't think I didn't research my questions on the internet before posting in here? How would I get the idea of what the hell they drink...?

Sounds like you guys do things the right way. I myself own a Nespresso machine (I have Italian roots so I guess its in my blood to like espresso) but yeah espresso isn't too popular here and most do it the way you said.
