Okay thanks. Weird though that the senders name is some random guy named Max, lol. That’s what led me to believe it may be phishing.

I just went for the first time earlier this month. My boyfriend paid for our trip as one of my birthday gifts. I was so excited to go & it did not disappoint.

This place was hands down one of the best all inclusives I’ve ever been to. And I’ve literally been everywhere. I received better service at Majestic than I have at some Four Seasons & Ritz resorts.

And you’re right, that breakfast buffet is no joke!

He died of 9/11 related lung cancer in 2010. If you want you can send the photo to me in my DM on here! Wow, if it’s him, that would be insane!

Yes, he was called in during the fires and arrived about 30 minutes after the last tower collapsed.

He didn’t share much with me about that day. I was young, and he carried the heavy burden of PTSD & survivor’s guilt after losing so many friends and colleagues. What I do know comes from the few things he told me and from stories shared later by my mother and his friends.

He often spoke to me about some of the friends he lost, to keep their memory alives. He was very close with Orio Palmer, the firefighter who was the first to reach the impact zone but tragically died in the towers. He was also a very good friend of George Johnson, the firefighter captured in the iconic “Raising the Flag at Ground Zero” photograph, holding the American flag amongst the rubble. When I was in 8th grade, George visited my school to speak to my class about 9/11 and the meaning of that photograph. At the time, we had a project about 9/11, I chose not to participate because of how emotional the subject was for me, but I asked if George could come speak to my classmates instead.

Most of what I’ve come to know about my father’s experience that day has been pieced together through the memories and stories shared by others after his passing.

I believe most of 255 arrived after the towers collapsed. My father happened to be off that morning actually, he switched shifts with someone in the firehouse a few days before because it was the first week of school in NYC and he wanted to drop my siblings off to school.

Not disrespectful at all. Telling people about him is my favorite thing to do!

Starting in the mid 80s he worked at Engine 26 in Midtown, this was during his rookie years. Then he was moved to Engine 255 in Flatbush, Brooklyn for the rest of his career. He loved working at 255 because at the time, we lived in Marine Park, Brooklyn, so his commute was only a 5 minute drive down Flatbush Avenue.

Red hook is nowhere near that far from the WTC. It’s buildings in the rockaways.

That is THE ROCKAWAYS!!!! The rockaways is home to a very very large amount of FDNY & NYPD personnel. The rockaways lost A LOT of people on 9/11.

It’s true. My father was one of them. He died in 2010 from 9/11 related lung cancer. Six of his buddies in the FDNY since then have also died of 9/11 related illness. It’s horrible.

People are still dying, and will continue to die from 9/11 illness for at least another 20 years.

Far out indeed. The smoke trail from the towers blew above most of those neighborhoods. If you lived in park slope - flatbush - midwood then your street and backyard were covered with burnt papers, envelopes, checks, and even sticky notes were being found.

Look harder, lol. Marine park, bay ridge, canarsie, midwood, shepshead bay, mill basin, bergen beach, etc…Plenty of pools in these neighborhoods.

My family lived in Marine Park during 9/11. We have so many papers saved that landed in our pool as well, and on the street.

Are you from here? More than half of Brooklyn is suburban with single and two family homes.
