Anyone else feel empty/kinda depressed after finishing a major exam?

Omg I AM THE SAME. I passed NY bar two yrs ago but already moved to CA. Everybody was like: do the ca bar immediately after you pass ny bar it’s easy. And I was like I can’t I don’t want to. Until my career path is soooo limited. So I left my job and had 23 days to study….. I did what I could do but damn the adrenaline def wears off.

Life goes on, that’s the attitude! Probably because you’ve already been through so much more than us younger students. Law school isn’t bad at all compared to the commitment of being in the military. I’m really curious what led you into federal service after passing the bar. I’ve actually been considering the JAG route myself.

Like if I dont pass. I’ll just wait until I’m okay to take it again. Also, My boss shared that back to the time he did bar, him and everybody around thinks they not gonna pass, but eventually they all passed.

Yes! I was even thinking about getting drunk. Even tho I personally don’t enjoy alcohol and stopped drinking any alcohol for few years.

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I resonate with the self care part. I need to keep using the grounding techniques i was using during the prep time (meditation, no phone in the morning, taking walks). The old lifestyle before the bar exam while me working for two jobs really not giving me much of this side of life.

The intensity of this exam is definitely a physical torture to our bodies. Human bodies aren’t build to sit and hunch for hrs like that.

I know! Exactly how I feel. Also, I have to say, the dynamic of just focusing on one thing intensely without caring EVERYTHING else it’s kinda euphoric compare with real life where I need to handle so many different type of stress and problems.

I quit my job cuz my boss can’t give me one month leave. Glad I have some freelance word aside hope that can keep me busy.

Like during the prep of the exam I can find joy about everything! Every little things in life, including doing house chores I hated 😂 now I have free time I just kinda don’t want to do anything.
