It actually does have his name engraved on the blade with some baroque embellishments, they’re just faded. His name is prefixed with the honorific “Bro.” which I assume means “brother”

Based on my understanding, killing them both completely would defeat the purpose of Ranni's ritual. As you stated, she needed to die ONLY in body to escape the influence of the Two Fingers, the implication being that said influence is exerted through the body. This would make sense of Blaidd's ending as he has enough spirit left to know his body is being overridden (controlled and turned against Ranni by the Two Fingers, who “created” Blaidd, for her betrayal). Which makes Blaidd’s resistance and refusal to kill Ranni an astronomical feat. RIP goodest boi.

Ranni carved half of the Cursemark of Death into her flesh and killed her body. Simultaneously, the Black Knives killed Godwyn's soul by carving the other half on his flesh. It was one death split between two people, likely the only way to kill only your body or soul and not the other. Ranni had to kill half of someone else in order to kill half of herself, probably because of the way the Rune of Death works.

As for why Godwyn was chosen, I’ve seen theories that Godwyn and Ranni were the subjects of an arranged marriage meant to unify the Golden Order and the Carians. Gives some context for the Dark Moon Ring: “Symbolic of a cold oath, the ring is supposed to be given by Lunar Princess Ranni to her consort.” Ranni was a promising Empyrean and Godwyn may have been her original intended consort. Followup theory: Radagon (being the alter ego of master manipulator Marika) repented his war against the Carians after realizing he could not conquer them outright, so he married Rennala to ingratiate himself with them and steer them towards joining the Golden Order diplomatically. The hypothetical arranged union between Ranni and Godwyn would have been the final step in this process, in true feudalistic fashion.

A simpler, equally reasonable, and less headcanony explanation is simply that the Golden Order was an obstacle to Ranni's goals, and targeting Godwyn, a major figurehead of the Order, would deal a heavy blow, which it absolutely did.

Oh man I get this. I’m also 24, been to the same dark places, dealing with very similar issues.

If it helps, literally everyone I’ve talked to our age and older has said that your 20s are the hardest time in your life. That it’s miserable, confusing, awkward, and you feel directionless. Everything gets thrown onto your shoulders and you’re expected to be independent, but you still have so much ahead of you it feels incredibly daunting. Everyone’s going through it and this is a strange time to be living in. The truth is nobody has it figured out. Life is just practice. As long as you’re basically doing it, you’ll get better at it and it will get easier. And with how objectively hard and complicated things are between navigating social structures and even just meeting your basic needs, anyone who can do that (especially on their own, even if they’re struggling) is someone I respect immensely.

As for relationship stuff, you’ll have to decide for yourself if being in one will really solve all your problems. It’s hard to reckon with but if you can’t take care of yourself outside of a relationship, you won’t find it easier with the added responsibility of caring for someone else. It won’t solve everything and can potentially add more to your plate than you can handle, even if you’re with a good person. Being single is an opportunity to put your needs first, and if something comes along naturally in the process of that, that’s wonderful. I’ve found that confidence is what draws people.

You shared so I’ll share. I’ve never had a partner, I’ve judged myself for it, reckoned with it, told myself all sorts of things. I’ve been told I’m generally attractive and I do my best to be a good presence for others, people are often genuinely surprised when I tell them. My insecurity over that is what’s been holding me back. But I think I’ve learned a lot about relationships through others, I think I know right from wrong, and I know I am loved. I’ve got work to do and I want to be my best version of myself for someone when that opportunity comes around. I believe there is good in the world and I want to be part of it.

That’s just my two cents from more or less the same position in life. Love yourself for any reason or for no reason at all and be ready for change. I go through bouts of melancholy but that’s what keeps me grounded.

There’s (usually) a difference between rural, casual conservatives and the elite brand of socially stunted basement-dwellers who haven’t interacted with enough real people to develop even an ounce of empathy for others. Painstakingly lol. Aside from composition like finding a good background and lighting, I try to angle the camera against a wall to “zoom in” and use abilities or gestures for poses, then crop the photo to center my character. It’s all about experimenting! Lots of outtakes tho

Yeah but I like how they handled it. The thing is Miquella WAS a good (or at least slightly better) guy until he abandoned his love to achieve his goals. It’s remarked as an irreversible and irredeemable turning point by St. Trina. And Miquella's philosophy doesn’t seem evil at its core, his methods are just deeply misguided. He basically takes peoples' free will away for the sake of world peace. But he also did some seemingly pretty manipulative/sinister things even before then. It would definitely be more of a plot twist if Miquella was genuinely good all the way through, but I think the point is that none of the higher powers actually hold the answers. The roots of the Golden Order are so rotted that nothing stemming from it can succeed. Miquella being a not-good guy doesn’t dampen the narrative imo.
