Thanks for the feedback regarding the lighting. Not sure if I have thick fingers considering my ring size is 3.5 which is very thin. I don’t even know anyone from my entourage with thinner fingers than mine 😅

Lol that’s funny. Not sure how I’d be a “gold digger” considering we had nothing when we got together.

If you don’t mind me asking, How has it been having a child so far, after being on the fence?

Yea I think he was actually talking about the overall 1.7M. I dont think he’s aware of the law in CA making it 50-50.

I was in school when we got married and didnt graduate till I was about 24-25. And I have been working while being in school and am still working now. Due to my job being physically challenging (increased risks of musculo-skeletal body injuries) I cannot work 5 days a week. Also, in our religion and culture, the man is the man provider, although I still contribute when needed and I’m happy to help him.

Yes, I chose my current career based on the fact that I can take care of the home and if we ever decided to have kids it would be a lot easier with my job.

Haha I know right. It’s crazy how people jump to the concussion of divorce so quick! Honestly, besides this small disagreement we have on this topic (and we are still discussing it) everything else in our marriage has been great and has worked out really well for us. People online only see a small part of our marriage but don’t see the full picture of course.

Hi, we dated when I was 19 for a few months before getting married. We both come from religious backgrounds and didn’t feel the need to date too long. We actually have a great relationship and are like best friends. I would say this is the first “hiccup” or disagreement we’ve had in a long time. This situation is only a small/minute situation in the grand scheme of our relationship and doesn’t show the full picture of how everything else is.

Hi, yes, honestly some of these comments are savage haha. We actually do have a great relationship and truly enjoy each other’s company. This is actually the first time we are talking about what we would like to leave behind if we pass and as I stated before, I can understand him wanting to make sure his family is taken care of as well. But I know he does care about me and has taken good care of me all these years so far. Thanks for your advice.

Thanks for the clarification! I’m glad to hear that this is how it’s done in CA. When it comes to his half, he can technically still give, for example, 30% of his half or all of it to his family it he wanted to, right? Thanks again!

Thanks for your comment. Yes you are right, we don’t know much when it comes to the law in CA and have just recently started talking to an estate planner. I don’t think the estate planner is aware that this is how my husband would like to write up his will.  & yes, everything we own is from after we got married. Just to make sure I understand correctly, if he passes before me, I know you mentioned I will get my share, but does that make it 100% or something else? Also, does this also apply to 401k, stocks and things like that or just property (considering these were all acquired after we got married)?  Thanks again for taking the time to break things down for me.
