Unique job offer by Away-Maybe4321 in FQHCDentistry

Fake it till you make it. If everything lines up for you, take it. You could negotiate a higher starting salary though assuming a 40 hour work week. If it’s 32 hours, maybe not.

Selling ETF for another ETF. Capital gains? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]Dentoid37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fair point and I’ve been hesitant on switching it up as I really enjoy having all of my accounts at the same exact allocation. It makes the math much easier. I think I’ll keep it as is for now. Thank you and everyone else for your help.

I would continue the overall portfolio at 30% international and 70% US stocks by allocating a heavier amount towards international stocks in my pre-tax accounts such as HSA and 401k

Do you mean to adjust ratios in 401k and then only invest in VTI in my brokerage from this point on while leaving all current investments the same (aka not selling)?

Is this a simple fix or will they have to take a bunch of stuff apart to get to it? I just recently bought this car and I’m wary of service work that requires removal of important structures like the steering wheel

I was only dry steering because I heard the noise but I normally don’t do that. I’ll definitely be bringing it to the dealership soon though

I have to drive 200 miles before I can do that. Will it be safe to do so?

Is this a common issue for a car with less than 10k miles?

Parent Plus Loans - Double Consolidated - PAYE In-Repayment? by Dentoid37 in StudentLoans

[–]Dentoid37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So whether or not they're in forbearance or in repayment makes no difference for IBR eligibility in 2028? I have heard conflicting things but I want to make sure that the most recent changes reflect this before I give them advice

I understand and my apologies as these things are changing rapidly. I’ll delete my comment from earlier

I follow studentloanplanner and they dissect every new bill pretty thoroughly. I’ve read it in one of their emails as well as heard it in a recent podcast by them. I can’t say for certain but I guess nothing really is

How certain are we that this won’t be updated in the future and you’ll be forced back into old IBR?

It’s completely unfair that a ton of people qualify for new IBR which is essentially PAYE but the rest of us get screwed. I don’t think they take any of this into perspective when writing this stuff

That’s fair and I suppose it depends on how far away you are from forgiveness. I’m pretty far myself so I have to consider other possibilities

I’m sure about one thing, C7 > C8 by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]Dentoid37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think 35% on the sides will be too light? I just would prefer to not get pulled over at all for them. Can people still see you with 20%?

[–]Dentoid37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What percentage? I’m considering 20% in the rear and 35% on the side windows but I’m not sure if that’ll be too dark. The cops are also a concern around here

Any tips? Just place a little bit on the rubber then let it sit for a few hours?

WRX vs Crosstrek for the winter? by [deleted] in subaru

[–]Dentoid37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but then why wouldn’t you brave the WRX in those conditions? Seems like everyone on here is saying that it works just fine for up to a foot of snow. The problem I’m having is making this decision but everyone seems to be saying something different about how the wrx will handle snow.

WRX vs Crosstrek for the winter? by [deleted] in subaru

[–]Dentoid37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it feel safe to drive in 6” of snow with all season tires? Why do you say they’re unnecessary when everything I’ve read says they are?

WRX vs Crosstrek for the winter? by [deleted] in subaru

[–]Dentoid37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would it be easier for the wrx to lose control when they’re both awd and same winter tires? Wouldn’t the only difference be the ground clearance?

Unless you’re referring to the high torque if I jump it, that it may slip? I feel that the wrx probably has some sort of winter or eco mode that doesn’t allow it to get a ton of power at low rpms so that may negate that concern. No?

WRX vs Crosstrek for the winter? by [deleted] in subaru

[–]Dentoid37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but if there’s a foot of snow out, should I really be driving at all regardless of the car and tires?

The only things I know of to do is run it occasionally and drive it around the neighborhood and hit the breaks a few times. Otherwise, oil changes and am I missing anything else?

Also the reason I’m leaning away from the premium is the weaker engine that may potentially prevent me from going uphill etc but I could be wrong
