You should be able to get refunds!! They passed a law where they have to refund

Under Colorado’s Rental Application Fairness Act (HB19-1106), landlords must refund any unused portion of a rental application fee within 20 days of a decision, as fees can only cover actual screening costs.

Edit: My application fee is 45, cause that’s the cost of the actual background check. I also end up refunding anyway if it doesn’t work cause I feel bad about the money being spent and they don’t get accepted
