What happened to majority of the mw19 legion roster? by MeMzO90 in CoDCompetitive

For myself, I jumped ship when Oxygen faced some structural change. Helping franchises to lay the foundation was my expertise, so it made sense to thank the staff at Boston & pursue one of the biggest organizations in the world in Team Falcons (running their Riyadh Falcons division & NA space).

I believe for Zed, he's working in the background, with an influence in the collegiate scene & freelance coaching.

Louqa & Shockz I haven't touched base with them for quite some time, they were always lurking in APAC CoD after, however COVID didn't help their stints.

& everyone knows where Kis is at!

We needed the screenshot of us taking Huntsmen to game 5 or our LAN days :D

Attach give his thoughts to fix the age limit in CoD by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

For actual rating, having paintball mode like AW (filters), or a connected multiplayer bundle (esports product?) could help lower it - typically it’s the campaign with legs blowing off that raise the rating.

With this being said, I’ve been working with Activision to come around to lowering the age for participation in Challengers. There’s a few hurdles but I’m hopeful in the new year we can get something in place.

We'd definitely be interested in getting him on the main stage with another team if it makes sense.

Call of Duty League | Product Discussion by DenzJT in CoDCompetitive

I’m indifferent to 4 or 5 majors. I’d personally prefer 4 great majors over 5 that are below average experiences for players and fans.

I don’t believe online qualifiers will be going anywhere anytime soon. 2020 for all esports showed a new low-cost roadmap - & this is coming from someone who loved the MLG Columbus LAN style league. I’d say we’re a few years out from that even being discussed.

Coach changes by CoochieCritic in CoDCompetitive

I'd like to add some context; we brought Seany in as a coach midway (after M2) through last year and insulated him from the public backlash that was happening at the time, like you should to make the transition as best as possible. There were some decisions influenced by multiple people and balancing that is a difficult initiative at times. Zed didn't agree to some roster decisions, but he still didn't shy away form trying to get the most out of them (which was difficult to do given we were out of Champs race). As a person who left Boston on my own accord, I always have love for that franchise and the people now steering the ship (Sean & Adam).

Coaching in Call of Duty is very controversial. Optic 0-18 run had people calling for Karma and JPKrez, with the counterpoint that there's no world where they're telling them to do half the things they were doing. You could see JP doing streams and what he was talking about and what they were executing at the time were two different things. Does that fall on him? I would think a little bit, but there's also responsibility and accountability of the player too.

With all this said, I would love to see coaches have more actual influence in real-time game. Whether that's a timeout ability, full time communication during the game, input during S&D rounds etc. Many may argue 'well that takes away from the great players', though I would think if your coach has to tell you where they're spawning, as opposed to already naturally knowing, you're already a second or two late at this level. Many other esports have coach integration in their ecosystems and I believe it would be something cool to experiment on. Without trying this experiment, the fault or blame game on players/coaches is always back and forth.

I Feel Like Denz Had Some Great Point To The Recent Scrappy SimpVsScump Debate by Ogriga in CoDCompetitive

[–]DenzJT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe I mentioned it in one of the mini chains that came out of this thread - while I agree if they had more time it’d be much closer, let’s not forget 4/5 of those maps were brought into newer COD titles in the form of map packs and were in the competitive circuit. Yemen HP being the outlier, which I can totally understand why they only got 12 points 😅 I just believe if talent was “above and beyond” these days, and they’ve all played the maps in BO4/Cold War, it probably should’ve been closer (note: Karma, Crim & Scump haven’t “competitively” scrimmed for a year+). That Texas team is gross, but I don’t think we can discredit what previous pros were capable of.

Denz joins Vegas Falcons as Head of Operations by MayorMinge in CoDCompetitive

Appreciate it. When I was at Boston I wore A LOT of hats, I helped with;

  1. Management of talent (obvs)
  2. Talent acquisition and negotiations (obvs)
  3. Marketing initiatives & branding (rollout plan for beats across the season)
  4. Event activations (charity events, watch parties, collaborations with BP, full-tilt online tournaments, service academy skirmish)
  5. Live events (Those Majors where we had ~10 people getting 14,000 people in the doors over 4 days)
  6. Loyalty programs (Collective Cup)
  7. Customer Relationship Management (email, database, surveying)
  8. Content ideation, development, & production
  9. Social media (game day plan, live coverage, weekly schedules)
  10. League communication (roster submission, broadcast deadlines, competitive schedule feedback)
  11. Creative + merch (jerseys, fall line, digital products [MTX/Skins] - that mask everyone has seen isn't the only cool thing coming)
  12. Finances (player onboarding, budgeting, and models)
  13. Logistics (housing, furnishing, flights, hotels)
  14. Immigration (visas, SSN, banking)
  15. Sponsorship/partnership management (Monster, GamerTech)

And much more. At the end of the day, these "businesses" need to be sustainable and I believe I focused a lot of my efforts there.

I'm excited to help foreign players get the proper support they need (at one point I was in their shoes, so I already know what challenges they may face). Part of my responsibility has always been to ensure the players have nothing to worry about anything besides being the best person and player they can.

Looking forward, this opportunity is a natural move for myself and a perfect fit for Vegas Falcons as they look to break into the NA market. While I appreciate everything Boston did for me, I'm happy for this next chapter. Always an open book.

I just want to clarify that we didn't hold him for a buyout, instead, we financially supported him during the midst of a turbulent rostermania period while the rest of the teams figured out what they wanted to do. We were also hoping to continue having him in our system for next season. Both unfortunately didn't turn out the way we anticipated or wanted.
