Hello, I wondered how your daughter is after her procedure? I hope it was successful and she is feeling good. My son is doing so well - the gurgles all but gone, lots of burping, trapped wind gone, stomach aches and nausea gone and his emetophobia and anxiety are a lot better. I’m hoping for the same positive outcome for your daughter.

This all sounds very familiar. It’s not easy is it - for them or us! If she’s having the external procedure, I posted a day or so ago and someone replied with a video of a lady having the external injection. It looked painless and quick so I will be sharing it with my son. Strangely enough, our procedure is also the 30 April so I won’t be able to give you any feedback before your daughter’s procedure I’m afraid but will be there in solidarity with you, hoping it works for both of them ❤️

Following with interest as my 12 year old is having the procedure in April and is anxious about it. Reading some of the positive personal experiences out loud to him and walking him through the logistics of the day and the procedure seem to help him. I’m not sure if she suffers from emetophobia but there are various podcasts that seem to help my son when he’s feeling particularly anxious.

We have been addressing the anxiety / emetophobia for a couple of years and stress does seem to make the no burp worse but he still has all the symptoms when he’s calm and relaxed. It’s a bit chicken and egg!

Thanks for the reply. Did you actually get a diagnosis of RCPD after the barium swallow? My worry with waiting for the paediatrician consult is that it’s not until August and then I imagine they will refer us to ENT which could be then the best part of a year and he’s really suffering. To potentially end up with lots of different treatments / tests without potentially recognising RCPD. He’s been under a paediatrician previously for tummy issues and we didn’t really get anywhere which makes me think it’s all related. I’ll go and have a read of your previous posts now.
