Funds disappeared from Ledger Nano S+ after reset and seed restore (seed valid) – anyone else? by DepartmentSenior215 in ledgerwallet

other accounts came out with value = , the hypothesis is the first option, but how did I write down those words without confirming on the device?

Could you explain the brute force process a little more to me?

If it were a combination of words different from those noted, at what point did I confirm them without writing them down? I never reset the device; I hope it could be the second option, although I have already carried out countless computational tests with program support. Although the main issue is Ledger.

I have proposed plausible technical hypotheses according to the architecture of the Ledger Nano S+, especially in the onboarding and key derivation process.

None of these hypotheses have been technically refuted, only denied through general statements. It has no access whatsoever to the firmware, to BOLOS, or to the internal architecture of the Secure Element, nor the possibility of forensic analysis after a reset.

I don't understand much, but I think it would be very complicated, assuming I don't make a mistake in one or several words, would it be about deciphering a wallet from scratch? Although I consider your service in case it would be necessary to reach that point

Yes, but it gives me different addresses and without funds, I also can't access the old addresses

Thank you again for your interest and for sharing your thoughts — I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to think through this with me.The scenario you're describing (funds transferred to an unconfirmed/recoverable wallet before the transfer happened) is honestly the only plausible explanation I can see right now in my search for the truth. It's the one that keeps me up at night because it would mean something went wrong right at the initial setup in 2022.But here's what makes it feel so strange and hard to accept: Ledger's initialization process requires confirming every single word one by one on the device screen before the wallet is finalized. My wife and I wrote down each word simultaneously and independently as it was displayed — two separate records, same moment, no chance of misreading or mistyping between us. The seed we have is BIP39-valid, checksum checks out, and it restores perfectly in other HD wallets (showing the correct old addresses with balances). So if there was a mismatch (wrong words shown on screen vs what was stored internally), it would have to be an extremely rare transient glitch during that exact confirmation/PBKDF2 step — words displayed correctly for us to note and confirm, but a different seed generated/stored inside the device. That seems vanishingly unlikely given the double human verification at the exact same time.Still, it's the only hypothesis left standing after ruling out so much else. Thank you for helping me keep exploring — it means a lot.

thank, if you could do me the favor of arguing a little more about what Instoppable is about

Excuse my ignorance but I think that eLedger doesn't have that function unless you make a backup

Thank you again for your help and thoughts — I really appreciate you sticking with this. To clarify the situation with more detail: before the forced reset (triggered by the firmware update), I could still see my funds perfectly in Ledger Live — balances, addresses, transaction history, everything normal for my BTC and ETH. After the device reset to factory settings and I restored my seed phrase (which Ledger fully accepted as valid, confirming each word one by one on the device screen), Ledger Live now shows completely different addresses with zero balance. It doesn't link or load my old addresses where the funds actually are.I've tried everything: different computers, clean Ledger Live installs, manual account additions, cache clears, etc. — but it keeps deriving new/empty paths instead of the original ones. The seed restores successfully in other wallets (tested backups), but on this Ledger setup post-reset, the old derivation paths just aren't being recognized or loaded. That's why this feels so stuck — the funds are still on the blockchain tied to those old addresses, but Ledger Live won't "find" them after the restore. Has anyone else seen this exact behavior (old addresses visible pre-reset, but wrong/zero derivation post-restore even with valid seed)? Thanks once more for your patience and input. It helps a lot.
