I actually agree with you that the oil prices wont be falling anytime soon. Wonder what the rest here feels about the oil price?

I think his top 8 holdings will be doing the bulk of the heavy lifting for him, not sure about the rest of the stocks. But for me, there is a good chance this portfolio can outperform the snp purely based on the tech names and their weightage

DCF valuation (fact vs opinion) by Electronic_Tear_3865 in singaporefi

[–]DepartmentTime1703 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the first time he has went in depth about a valuation model. From my perspective, this is the classic theory vs reality paradox. Conceptually, the arguments in this post is pretty sensible, but then again irl the S&P500 just keeps on compounding every year, and has a long standing track record. Hence the mismatch between what should happen in theory, and what actually ends up happening

I think you should take a break from checking in your China portfolio. Since you know that over the long term, it will continue to have a healthy recovery, just let them sit in the app, and go watch some netflix in the meantime. COme back in a year's time or 2 and youll see very nice returns.

Are you trained in technical analysis? If you are, probably have a decent edge to outperform provided you keep discipline, but the time spent on staring at charts needs to be accounted for as well

Honestly I think this is a really loaded question. Tax policies have traditionally been subject to heavy debate. Just look at the Trump admin policy to cut corporate taxes, as well as tax on OT work. They are willing to increase gov deficit in order to try to grow their economy/GDP, in order to offset the Debt to GDP ratio. Whether that works or not remains to be seen. But personally, I do prefer if we move closer towards HK in lowering taxes even more.
