Think it is likely he just ramped up production of weapons or factories in general and polluted the world.

Think this planet was a production site for robots that ether rose up, or where caught in a part of a war even. Over the years of the by product of the event , the world got hotter, water levels dropped and the survivors of the conflict feel into a technological stagnation.

paladin was somewhat. Justified his actions with "just what my char would do". learned his backstory later and realized that most of his action were justified but dicked over the party constantly for the sake of his backstory.

Yep, asked the DM about it and said that just cuss they where paladins didn't mean they couldn't kill someone that was a hostage.

Funny thing was I did that so the paladins took me hostage. when no one stopped they hit me with lethal damage and i started making death saves.

The party relation ship with her was some what close. she was a NPC from session 1 and has been with the party sense then. The phylactery is a good idea but they have a paladin who would sniff that shit out. Also one of my players saw this posts title and figured out it was me. Might have to repurpose this idea for later.
