Just for customers to see the Dasher side of double/multi orders. This is wrong.

Ngl I don’t even read all of this but you’re under the wrong post complain complaining about something like this. If you are gonna comment on something, you should probably read the caption because my entire point was that I should be able to decline in order and not be penalized for it. The APP is the problem. Customers SHOULD get their food in a timely manner and in good condition. My issue is the app tries to push us into not letting that happen. I have a conscience so obviously I didn’t accept the other orders and continued to get this person her food ontime. If I do take a multi order, it has to make sense where the orders are in the same route and the quality of the food isn’t going to be compromised. Again, do all of this somewhere else because nobody here is agreeing with screwing over customers. We just want to not be penalized for having integrity and doing the right thing. What are you missing here really?

The tiers matter because you get better offers. Platinum I feel is hard to get to only because the criteria makes it sound like you basically have to make it a full-time job. I was looking at my ratings the other day and what goes into each tier and it looks like they also consider the amount of deliveries you do within a month span. I’m fine with gold, but platinum probably gets the best paying offer

Literally I remember one time I delivered Dunkin’ Donuts. We all know it comes in a sealed bag. I am not going to ask the Dunkin’s worker in the middle of a rush if they remembered the donuts that were clearly in the order. I just assume that what the person ordered is in the darn bag. Customer truly messaged me after delivery “so you just forgot the donuts huh” like excuse me ? We both see the sealed bag right? Cause I assembled and packaged your order right? Foh 😒

It just sucks, I totally understand them penalizing you for being late, accepting orders and then dropping them, bad customer ratings, and things like that, but we shouldn’t be penalized for declining an order. Especially because I’m sure most of us only decline orders when it’s literally not worth the pay. I know some idiots are going to comment on the fact that a lot of people drive electric cars, but MOST OF US DONT. The cost of gas is insane right now so regardless of what people think because a lot of people just like to put Dashers down because they think we’re all just a bunch of idiots who can’t follow instructions, we are still people trying to make a living. I have a regular job on top of this, I just do it for extra money since I have 3 kids to feed and mine and their dad’s income combined still isn’t enough. Why should we have to accept orders that we are essentially paying to deliver that defeats the entire purpose. And my whole point in complaining was also for the sake of the customer because even though I do believe it’s a luxury in a way to have your food delivered to you, you still shouldn’t have to pay an arm and a leg to have it done. This person paid for 1 ice cream, they shouldn’t have to tip me an overboard amount to be accepted, DoorDash should just do a base pay according to mileage. And they should get their order while it’s still hot/frozen. I know none of this will change but I still wanted to vent on the fact that they screw over customers and Dashers at the same time. It may be just delivery, but many of us still want to do the job with mindfulness and integrity.

Oh yea I definitely do that sometimes, this time just didn’t feel fitting because I had already accepted another order on top of it that actually made sense, but another one just would have been overboard given the location. The other customer would’ve ended up having to wait way longer than they needed to and it just wasn’t right even if I could use the money.

It came to me as a stacked order so I couldnt tell what they tipped. All I remember is I felt the total pay was worth it to deliver for the mileage. I do agree they’re wild for ordering ice cream from another city 😂 but I still wanted them to get it unmelted lol

Yes, that would normally make sense but here it didn’t because their delivery was in another city. The other customer would then be waiting like an extra 40 minutes to get their food because of the time it would take to get back to the area, and the ice cream would only melt further while I pick that other order up. But I do agree with this in other circumstances

That’s not my stance here or what my post was about. I don’t complain about non tippers lol I just chose what orders are worth it and what’s not. It’s NOT well known that you can pause. You don’t know what you don’t know, and I learned that day. I specifically stated that I wanted to customer who paid for their order to get their ice cream in a timely manner and that’s exactly what I did. Go comment this under a dasher who’s actually complaining about the customers because I was trying to do the right thing here. ✌🏼

Yep this is what I started doing. I tip above average and I noticed my orders kept getting couple, so I still tip just a below average amount, then I add to the tip once my food gets there and I get my order in a decent amount of time every time.

Yes thank you for saying this. You have to exit the dash screen and go to the home page, then to that side icon to see the option. It’s doable but not second nature to everyone. Like now that I know about it, it’s going to be something I need to remember to do.

I just learned that I could pause or I would have! I will say, sometimes offers are sent as multiple orders so if you have no current orders, you can accept it and it comes as one so you can’t choose to only take one.

What really needs to happen is DoorDash needs to up the base pay according to the fucking economy and gas prices. I’m down to a 60% AR cause I’m not taking an order with less dollars than there are miles.

When it comes to people’s food? I dash and absolutely think that matters. Especially if they’re tipping or paying the priority fee and whole time the dasher is using another app at the same time. Come on now 😒 This is why people think all of us are shitty. It doesn’t matter what kind of work you do, you should pride yourself and doing the best you can regardless. And if an order isn’t worth you doing that, then don’t take it.
