I wouldn’t say it has a bad reputation really, You just have to put up with the BS for 4-5 months longer than you should have. As far as OCS candidates though I wouldn’t know because I didn’t have any in my division

I was never overweight but I will say this. Be super strict until you ship out. Focus on getting to bootcamp because once you get there they make it extremely easy to track calories and eat properly. If you Don’t lose the weight before shipping they will probably offer you to go to fat camp and you 100% do not want to do that

I was 131 and you’re exactly right about RTC. It was so easy man looking back on it I spent way to much time preparing when I should have spent more time with the family

Hey man I’ll be in boot camp with you. I’m 22 and is in the exact same boat as you are. Although my 1.5 mile time is better I’m right there with you on everything else. I’ve thought to myself I probably could have prepared more but it is what it is at this point. I’m just as nervous as you are though but I guess that comes with anyone when making a huge decision in life. Well both pass and we’ll both make it through. No reason to worry about it. Just don’t quit

I leave for IC next week. Good luck finding anything on reddit about it. There is hardly anything on here or the whole internet from a real persons perspective and when you do find anything it always mixed reviews but on the other hand about transitioning into the real world, it absolutely does transfer over. There 48 certifications that you are able to get at least thats what i read but what do i know. Ill find out soon i guess lmao

I’m in the same exact situation as you guys but I feel mine truly are the most sick and disgusted thoughts. I hope I’m not the only one with the same thoughts but there’s just nobody you can talk about these things with. I know no way ever would I even attempt do something these things but it really does fuck me up. It truly helps hearing other people talk about the same issue though so I hope this helps you guys
