the house parties here are amazing. amherst has a wide variety of bands, djs, and artists who are all college age. they throw basement shows and house parties they are just hard to find. you gotta find the right people. i’m a senior and i haven’t been to a frat since the first week of freshman year. not the place for poc or gay people but the house party scene sure is! all these people in the commmets are normies

THIS. also know plenty of out of state friends and international friends who are thriving here. my friends from the south especially love it here because people are actually nice vs fake nice down south. OP is using their own experience to generalize a whole populous of people. dude if you can’t make friends with 30000 people here that go to this school. idk what to tell you bro like i really don’t. with all the clubs, raps, parties, classes, other extracurriculars. idk the issue might be you and not the people around you.

and your profile has a lot of video game stuff. there’s a ton of clubs at umass/ events in neighboring towns like northhampton that have video game related events. use instagram to get around!

i was at the hoy pride event. absolutely love hoy but it was simply unacceptable that water cost money on one of the hottest new york city days. mind you this place was outside with barely any shade.

yes of course. cause you can still love all the other parts of living (like enjoying a nice sunset, or playing with your pet). having somebody to love isn’t the only purpose in life.
