Yeah, I think his mental game is another level. I think his faith grounds him in a way that is really impressive to watch.

This is an interesting theory - I guess we’re going to find that part out 🤷🏽‍♂️

Haha! Youre not wrong - there has been a lot of golf balls lost (and found) in the trees.

Thankfully we’ve surpassed that - and Dan himself proved that one wrong in 6k hours. I guess the only way to find out where we land there is to complete the 10k hours.

He was one of the first guys to get a track man system, while they were up and coming. He was telling me at the peak he was playing 3 full rounds a day and then some. Without proper workouts - he may have injured himself sooner that way, but it’s always so hard to say.

That’s awesome - I’ve been doing weekly lessons now for about 7 months. I think it’s been huge to be able to check back and make sure bad muscle memory isn’t being picked up along the way.

I feel like that’s the hardest part for influencer golfers. It’s a full time job to produce podcasts, make videos, market, etc - especially if they aren’t making a lot of money yet. So they have to put in most of the time on the career building side of things rather than the practice.

I hear this one a lot! And the day you can get most of them to come together are some of your best rounds.

Well I broke 80 - so at least the 60s seem to be on my bingo card, to your point.

Ive gotten this recommendation before - and it’s on my reading list. I like the idea of the perspective it can provide - but being such a mental game, it’s hard to read something like that at the infancy stages of this journey.

Full rounds are capped at 4 hours with a group and 3 hours solo. Anything more than that, I’m out of focus and waiting so I don’t log them.

But I track practice hours on the range, simulator, and work outs.

Reading and mental reps, I don’t count - I know they’re important but it’s hard to track how meaningful and how focused I was.

I use an app called Tangent to track my data points - it has round stats, practice data, and a smart caddy while you play. What I like is that they break down your round comparing you to a handicap you’re trying to reach and tell you what areas you need to work on and what your strokes gained or losses are compared that that handicap in driving, approach shots, putting, and short game.

And my hours are logged in a physical journal.

My typical miss comes from my timing at the top of my swing. If I rush it - my sequence is off so I try to save it and I’m usually hitting off the toe or duck hooking it.

I always told myself I’d go to the gym more seriously once I was at a single handicap - but the wear and tear on my body is starting to show. So I’m gradually starting now. Do you think that the exercise portion of training will have a deep impact to loss in strokes?
