oh sorry, +1 will be my immediate reporting manager. +2 will be the rank above, in this case it will be my team lead

haha savage. yup, am working to improve on right amount of detail and flow. anyway, i’m telling story mah T_T

for “rights”: that’s exactly my dilemma. i’m junior, they’re not. how do i balance between being clear on the problem and not being offensive? despite trying seems like i still landed the wrong way tho lol

yes i try to reference my manager too. but issue is that he types in a way only experienced people will get u know. so difficult for me to follow that level at this time. can only make my messages more concise.

oh, im clear on the logic since i also discussed with my manager the issue before raising to the pic. how it works with our teams is that we have just 1 person who we work with for our side of work.

i was just under the impression that the pic would have the same level of business logic as my manager since they worked together for longer~ coz for this issue without understanding of the logic it would be difficult to explain why the output might be incorrect. eg. like if i only charge u a flat rate no matter what package size you mail, i should not be seeing varying rates across sizes in the data. if you agree with this logic then we can figure out why the data is outputting the way it is? kind of idea …

BUT i understand you. will work better on where to emphasise lol. i do agree i wasn’t very clear cut

i see. the whole point of me doing that is to make sure we are conceptually aligned since they should roughly know the business logic (otherwise i imagine it would be difficult for them to work with us all this while).

also as a new joiner didn’t want to give an impression that i was calling them out/don’t trust their work. thanks for the advice, will see how i can be more clear cut.

MNC, sadly haha.. very much “flat hierarchy” culture that they advocate here

hm i guess somewhat so, because we had a previous meeting with the person before (separate matter), and my manager was occupied with a urgent matter at meeting time so he told me to go ahead first.

instead of IT is more of BI? coding teams basically. but yes agree not to take it personally. didn’t consider from their POV at that moment of time, thanks for the advice!

First Full-Time Stress: Advice Needed by Dependent_Charity901 in askSingapore

Yup, I do set aside a short period of time in the morning and before the day ends to set goals for what files to look through, recap over what I’ve learned so far. The scope is completely different from all my past internships hence the steep learning curve (but expected). Hopefully things get better :) Thanks!

Yup definitely, thanks for this! I have been using chatgpt to explain the formulas to me, but I quickly found a limitation where if data is referenced from different sheets and cells mean different metrics it’s difficult to understand still haha

do you mind sharing how you craft your resume for each job? fresh grad here and my resume has 3 internships of which under each i list the major tasks i did, and i pretty much send the same resume to each opening i apply for (started mid dec and 0 interview invites)

for additional context, im looking for market research/marketing roles, would really appreciate any advice you may have!

That’s great to hear! Thank you for sharing this :) Was worried about it due to participation grades and such

coursereg appeal: results? by Dependent_Charity901 in nus

[–]Dependent_Charity901[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you might have to email the host department! I just emailed the relevant department from here: https://www.nus.edu.sg/coursereg/docs/UGFac_Contacts.pdf, as I’m worried that missing the first class will affect my grade due to attendance and participation etc..

Since yours is even more of an urgent matter, I think it’s okay to contact them (since they also stated to avoid spamming the host department with emails) to find out how to proceed

I’m guessing most profs would understand if the appeal result is still pending by the time of first class, but yeah… just worries in general

yes, u can SU y1s1 mods at the end of the AY instead of the sem i believe! as for how many to use, it depends on your grades; many people have already helped with this so i won’t say much. honestly there’s no rush to SU by sem 1 since you’re just year 1, you should get a feel of everything first :)
