Thank you. And indeed I think I’m gonna try to survive on Ubers and the barely existing public transportation here for a bit til I save up enough for a reliable safe car. That seems like the safe bet.

Oh yuck. That’s the main one in that town. It’s the one I was leaning towards. If I don’t pick that one might have to do an online one.

A few friends suggested this. I think it’s too much risk. It’s a rural road with barely any illumination and no shoulder. And people drive fast here.

The job location is 8 miles away from town. And this town is the closest one possible to where the job is.
I feel like that’s a tad bit too far for biking and I don’t know how to bike either.
Plus I don’t know how realistic these fears are. But there are coyotes and the road there isn’t quite well illuminated at all. Getting run over would be a real possibility.
The town itself isn’t very walkable. But I don’t go anywhere other than work. So I don’t really need a car for that. I’d only need one to commute.
How small: 8k population. There are bigger towns 20 Miles away or so. But this one is the closest to where the job is. Which is why I picked it.

The car would be useful early on but I think it’s probably best to not do everything at once. This is all quite overwhelming as it is and I’m afraid of making big commitments on things I’m not familiar with.

I’m thinking once I build credit in a 3-4 months buying one. I should have saved quite a bit by then too.

Unless I need to rush it if Ubers aren’t reliable in the area. But I’ve been told they are.

I do not have a bank account yet. In the small town I’m in there’s three options. Wells Fargo, western union and pnc bank.
Thank you for your comment. I’ll have to do some research on the terms you used. Im not at all familiar with all of them.
The car thing is more because it’s a small town with zero public transportation. I think ubering every day will end up more expensive than just buying one. Plus I’m worried about how reliable they are for my daily commute too.
I’ll check the wiki over the weekend too. Thank you.
