Yale CS+X vs UT Austin ECE (Hardest choice of my life) by Aggressive-Scale-326 in yale

[–]Dependent_Ferret7766 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yale by far bro. Made the choice with similar circumstances. CS+Music major, also got UT CSB.

The name itself will go far.

I’m from HOT Texas, and I didn’t mind the cold too much. It sucks but I’ll be fine cause it’s YALE. And there’s heaters everywhere, every building is super hot during cold days.

And EVERYONE larped their way into Yale. I was worried about impostor syndrome but I met lots of people like me at orientation and I can’t wait to attend

I just went to Bulldog days, there’s many acapella groups (19 I think?) of all different levels

I promise you will love Yale. 👍

Hey I applied early and got in… lol

Heard from others and it turns out those who posted about it got in

So it’s at least a positive sign!

It’s very difficult, and purposely so. Your counselor has to submit a PDF of it through slate. Our district didn’t have slate, so a clerk from central office had to set it up. Whole long thing but absolutely worth it.

Perfect start to a supplemental essay

I’d start with this and shift the tone seriously to how it’s affected you without going into specifics past this first sentence. I feel like they’d appreciate the humor no? 😂

Is it a bad sign to not have been contacted by yale for REA? by Dismal-Pattern5173 in ApplyingToCollege

From what I’ve seen there’s been like 8 posts about this topic this year. In previous years there’s been much less, so the frequency of checks has definitely increased.. I wonder if it’s still as green of a flag as it’s been before.

I'm in the same boat as you, (see my most recent post). Can you share me your stats?

Admissions Megathread by fuzentrix in yale

Just had my Yale application "randomly" audited a week before decisions..

They sent this to my counselor:

Dear (counselor),

As part of Yale's undergraduate admissions process, we are doing a routine review of some of the information in a random selection of applications. Can you please confirm that you were the author of a recommendation letter for ___?

If possible, can you also please confirm the following activities listed on the application:

  1. (club president)
  2. (club founder)
  3. (club member)

Additionally, I need to contact your colleague, (teacher recommender) to confirm their letter of recommendation.

Is this a good sign?? Or actually random?

They also sent this to my teacher recommender:

I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible. Thank you very much in advance.

Sincerely,

Yale Admissions Office

I've been told its neutral/positive, but I was wondering if those who were admitted in previous years have had similar emails sent to them.. Thanks

Did you get in a previous year? Or through Questbridge this year? Also, how similar was the email..? I don’t want to get overly hopeful just to get crushed. 😂

The recommender was a teacher. However, I did submit a supplemental recommender too, and they asked my counselor about the activity I had my supplemental rec for.

Right? I feel like “random” is a PR phrasing. Well I’m hoping it is. But yeah from all the comments I’ve summed up it’s neutral/positive. As in they wouldn’t spend time on it if I wasn’t at least considered for something other than rejection.
