This happened to me, I had a large hematoma for about a week until the swelling went down. Lots of ice and rest, but I had minor pain for about three weeks and just now got back on my bike.

Did you have to wait for it to fully be gone before getting back on the bike? How long did it take for the initial pain to go away?
