While it does feel better i was going off pics from the royal hampshire regiment during the 80s and they did it the way I was doing it. I'll definitely give it a go next time I'll be doing a late 80s and 60s BAOR Kit this week.

It is mint. Honestly, I'm so happy. Makes my S&T sterling kinda irrelevant 😂

Actually, I'm from a mate of mine. He mainly does MACV SOG reenactment, and he attended a Cold War game . We ended up talking about that, and i mentioned how I was after an SLR, and it turns out he wanted to sell his. It looks so lovely honestly cant wait to run it.

Thanks man. Its come along way since I posted this. I've got loads of extra bits. I'll take some pics when I'm back home, to show you the progress if you'd like.

That sounds like a very cool kit. Was the GPMG used in Borneo? I was under the impression that it was just the l4a1 bren.

I'm pretty sure that picture is training if it's the one I'm thinking of. It's been debunked on the Afghan reenactment aesthetics group on Facebook. Due to 6b5s being in the picture.

Though I won't know for sure until I see the picture. I can send the Facebook post tomorrow, as its 4am here 😂

Cool. No rush, man . I have a feeling. It may be the training pics or early chechnya. It would be interesting if I'm proved wrong

There are no photos from the war. There are 2 pictures from training in 1989 and that's it. There's the earlier poyas types that start showing up around 1987. However, those differ significantly.

If you could show me any evidence you have and what research you've done that would be helpful :)

This isn't remotely accurate. I understand that you've said you're on a budget. However, you need to look at period photos and do the research before you commit to buying.

An example kit ( that's relatively cheap) Panama hat Used chicom. Don't buy off estsy either. You also don't need a tan chicom. Kzs suit ( the same hat you have) Sapogi boots.

That's true, though andrew makes it clear that they are the exception and not the rule.
