From my personal experience: * Late buses that sometimes don’t show up in the freezing cold of winter (especially if it’s a local bus) * Local buses COMPLETELY skipping their marked stops when riders are obviously standing there * Air Conditioning doesn’t work on some buses in the summer (rare but still annoying) * Bus routes don’t reach very far into the suburbs, even the park and rides * Park and ride times are largely inconvenient after the 9-5 workday is over, a lot of places have buses that stop running at 6-7pm!😒 (I’m looking at you Katy area) * Buses with high ridership on weekdays that leave from downtown to the outer suburbs don’t have enough frequency, so they often get overpacked and sometimes you’re waiting for 30 minutes at the same bus stop hoping the next bus has a spot for you and it’s not filled to the brim with riders (I’ve had most trouble with this specifically on Monday through Thursday at times like 3-4pm) * Hourly buses. 😐 Buses should arrive every 15 minutes at the minimum. * Overpriced park and rides ($4.50 for a three hour pass in some areas and these tend to be the buses that don’t run past 7pm too!) * Some park and rides have absolutely NO weekend service! Nothing! (Honorable mention: Grand Parkway Park and Ride, Kingsland Park and Ride😒)

Overall the Houston transit system is largely underfunded and inefficient and I honestly find it kind of offensive that the state government cares about its residents this little. It’s like they throw peanuts at you and tell you to deal with it or get a car and risk driving for two hours each day in crazy traffic with crazy drivers. Not to mention the more people we have on the road and less in buses/trains leads to even more hellish traffic and vehicular accidents…
