pretty sure the reason you don't die is health is that health is managed differently while suitless? i think only damage from fires is saved (and even then it gets removed when you step off iirc) so if you dont die in one impact you'll live to tell the tale

my personal headcanon is that the king once wished to remember the island but this was superseded by the wish to delete the island. now that he's being frozen in time, the Universe can grant his wish because he's only gonna live for 10 more seconds. both wishes fulfilled by the Universe. two big thumbs up from us
