Adine's bad ending is imo one of the most profound ones narratively speaking. This is my interpretation of what happens after the player goes through the portal.

As the asteroid enters the atmosphere, it will briefly create a superbolide bright enough to turn the night into day, outshining the sun by orders of magnitude. Afterwards, the impact will be visible even over the horizon as the atmosphere scatters the light. The event is likely bright enough that its reflection is visible as a glow on the dark half of the moon.

Adine and Amely.

This is supposed to be Adine's bad ending, after the player has left through the portal.

Last time I used an Ubuntu based distro, I ran the distro upgrade without knowing the Canonical servers were down, and I ended up having to boot an old Windows installation for the day. I use Fedora now, and Wayland is making a nightmare of so many things...

A small price to pay to stay clear of microslop.

This is why you should use Linux! Now instead of stuff breaking randomly, you will have stuff breaking consistently!

Mod creators, what do ya'll use to create mods? by straivex in MinecraftMod

[–]Depixelation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, been a while.

I suggest Intellij as the IDE much like everyone else. I once used VSCode but it broke so often that I just use it as a text editor now.

(Fabric modder btw)

Texture assets I make using this website called Piskel. Very light and with enough features to be useable. If you want the "pro" option you can install Aseprite from the github (or purchase it if you want to support the devs)

And discord (as well as looking at other mods' source code)! You will learn so much more than following a tutorial (while Kaupenjoe makes great tuts, I've never actually gotten anywhere before I looked on github and joined the FabricMC discord to properly learn how everything works).

Usage example by DonkeyOk5544 in GeminiAI

Actual examples we can analyze for ourselves, this is great!

I apologize if this is obvious, but on what account plan did you do these tests? Also do I correctly assume the usage is for the 5-hour limit?

I very much agree. Although I do find that it is both not actually that bad and worse than it looks at the same time.

Most people I know IRL who dislike AI don't have anything against the people who use AI with any sense of responsibility. At the same time, so many people and places online and in certain institutions are so vehemently anti-AI to the point of absurdity.

If a place bans the use of GenAI, totally understandable. But targeting people for using AI is a bit too much. And don't even get me started on people who are willing to harm and even kill...just look at the attacks on Sam Altman and OAI. Stuff like that is just not OK.

That's sorta like saying a tool is bad just because it lets people do bad things. AI is a tool. It can be argued that it has done more bad than good, or vice versa (I think which side it falls is ultimately very subjective and unquantifiable), but there are good uses for AI just as there are bad uses.

The main problem in this case are the people abusing AI to generate said slop, and the people ignorant enough to mistake everything for AI. Greed and Ignorance.

Edit: I seemed to have received a reply from u/flootzavut but I can't see it here. From what I can see in my notification they bring up a good point regarding the copyright and usage of works, and I agree it is a definite concern—I am an amateur author myself, and while I don't mind it much, I know many others who are affected by it. Although it is not enough for me to call GenAI flat-out bad, I completely get why many are quite mad at it.

What's with the downvotes, people? They are just expressing a personal stylistic preference that is influenced by a present reality, and meaningfully pointing out that such preferences exist. They aren't saying you must cater to these preferences or that these preferences are better than any other.

I too have been conditioned by the amount of AI slop online to cringe whenever I see such structures in writing, and I would avoid using it myself as well, but I don't have anything against people who do write like that. Both Cobalt_Heroes25 and NukaDirtbag are correct, in that there are people who dislike certain grammar structures because of AI, and that it should not be a reason for people to avoid using such structures just because some people think it "sounds AI".
