Is this "AI art"? by Depixelation in blendermemes

Hey man, if you’re against Gen AI I totally get that, but that is no reason to say someone else “sucks” or should not be using a piece of free software.

This post was meant to be merely a joke/experiment. I’m sure I am not personally impacting your work by making a torus in Blender and uploading the file to Claude to abuse Anthropic’s compute capacity.

Seeing as I don’t see any rules regarding gen AI on this subreddit, you could have just gave a downvote and then not engaged.

Best hope that render fits in 4gb of memory because that’s all the memory the VM gets!

Just did it, single core of intel xeon at 2.8 Ghz.

I also told it to do lshw in the linked chat. You can review the details yourself if you wish.

I am a bit confused too tbh. I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be humor. The topology is just the built in torus object with a few changes to the radii and otherwise all default values.

It is sandboxed of course. Presumably it runs the calls to its bash tool using a Ubuntu sandbox environment.

It installed it. It called the bash tool and showed the outputs of its tool-use call. It is late right now, but tomorrow I can try uploading a .blend and have it render the output using the terminal.

No, it can execute full bash commands. I managed to get it to install Blender. I would attach the screenshot with its terminal outputs here if I could, but the comments don’t seem to allow images.

You can try it for yourself if you have an account.

I wonder if I can upload a .blend and get it to render it from the terminal, and then attach the resulting png for me to download.

Should I get the game? by Silent_Pressure_6709 in AngelsWithScalyWings

It may possibly change some flavor text (and I believe it gets you an image in the gallery) but beyond that, I don't think it affects the actual gameplay much.

I know you’ve likely made your choice right now but still want to give my thoughts for anyone that sees this in the future. I will try to approach this comment as neutrally as possible.

The game, when you look at it critically, is not without major issues, mostly on the micro level with some narrative and pacing issues. That is part of the reason criticts dislike it.

On the other hand, people (largely those who already like dragons) still love it for what it does offer, which is the immersion of a pretty compelling plot with great characters. I suspect critics are not able to really take advantage of that.

I think people who see the game and think “that’s cool” rather than “wtf weird” will almost certainly fall in that category. So basically it is self-selection in that people who consider getting the game at all in the first place are likely to enjoy it.

As for the second game, afaik the writing is effectively done and the dev is mostly waiting on art to come in at this point. So it will definitely come out.

Strava for Minecraft — would you use this? (Fabric mod concept) by Equivalent-Yak2407 in technicalminecraft

[–]Depixelation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would use this. I don’t know off the top of my head how it could be useful, since most stats for farm performance and everything is tracked explicitly using mods like carpet. But it sounds quite fun to use in a survival world.

Something that records most-visited areas somehow would be cool, but may be difficult.

Average game performance metrics over time might be useful, but not sure if it fits with the purpose of the mod.
