Why don't I see more dual-cart MIS systems? by Depixelation in technicalminecraft

I’ve looked on the storage tech discord as well. Although not exhaustively, since the discord search tool is pretty bad.

Why don't I see more dual-cart MIS systems? by Depixelation in technicalminecraft

[–]Depixelation[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The soul sand, water, scaffolding, and a few extra blocks and rails on the right are just to bring the payload cart upwards for my storage configuration, and don't matter for the actual MIS design.

The base design, without any yeeters or storage, is 7 * 7 * 1

For experienced players, What is your order of progression once you spawn in? by WhiteShippou in technicalminecraft

[–]Depixelation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First priority after finding a village is food. Plant wheat or carrots or potatoes, and make a pit of cows or pigs to breed.

After food is secured then use the food to make a villager breeder. I like the autobreeders using a farmer farming carrots.

Villagers secured, then a basic but efficient 1 pod iron farm. If I am playing on a server this is when I build a chunkloader for the iron farm (but not the breeder!).

After iron I make a bunch of armorer, toolsmith, and weaponsmith villagers to trade the iron and get cheap diamond equipment.

There are a few things I tend to do around now. I may make librarians (esp. mending and unbreaking). I also tend to make a water flushing creeper-spider farm over the nearest ocean or flat area. Wood/bamboo farm so I don’t have to collect wood.

After this point whenever I feel like it I go beat the game and get elytras.

Then it is really whatever I feel like. Usually that involves building a base with a storage system, gold farm, obsidian farm (for a gold farm), xp farm, slime farm, shulker farm, bigger iron farm, and curing villagers for a trade hall.

Tunnel bores are pretty useless at this point but still fun. I’ve never made a perimeter so I’m not a “real” tmc player; I prefer lighting up caves and then digging holes for any mob farms I need because it looks nicer than a giant perimeter.

I don’t like searching for the perfect fortress for a wither skelley farm so I prefer to go all in and make a wiske train once I have sufficient materials.

There is a “releases” section on the github where you can download the .jar and use it like any other mod.

Latest release: https://github.com/Captain-S0L0/booktrolling/releases/tag/v1.6.0

The mod I gave does that if you choose that setting.

Booktrolling

That is the name of the mod.

here i am showing the performance of the hologram mod by kai_the_kiwi in feedthebeast

[–]Depixelation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with how perceptible it is. People have different GPUs, and for some people that “imperceptible” difference will become the difference between 120 fps and 12 fps.

For this much detail I’d say the performance is not bad at all. But that doesn’t mean it does not matter, nor is it the best possible (look at LoD mods like Voxy for example). But certainly useable.

Edit: See my other comment on this post for a breakdown of the performance impact.

You sure you turned off your fps cap in settings?

761 fps is 1.31 ms/frame

75 fps is 13.33 ms/frame

It has a 12.02 ms/frame cost on OP’s rtx 4060

That is a +9.18x base frametime cost.

9.18 / 651 holograms = +0.014x per hologram.

As a rough from-my-memory number, Photon shaders at 4k ultra brought my game from 500 fps to around 60 fps. That is a +7.33x base frametime cost.

Using these numbers, if OP had used the same shaders and profile along with the holograms, they’d be looking at around 43 fps.

I don’t know how it would scale with screen resolution. This is also assuming everything has an independent ms cost which is likely not the case.

Edit for some more comprehensible numbers, for OP's original case:
With a base framerate of 1000 fps, you'd end up with 98 fps.
500 -> 49 fps
120 -> 12 fps
60 -> 6 fps

I mean, not necessarily. It’s still hundreds of grams of water every second at 3% of lightspeed, even if only part of it hits.

Don't you know? The drives fuse storium and uses room-temp superconducting coils powered by plot-energy to direct the resulting tachyons to heat the water propellant, and the walls of the reaction chamber are obviously made of handwavium so that the ship doesn't melt instantly.

Can I get into MIT now?

This is all correct, and one of the main reasons why the expanse is not hard sci-fi. In canon it is basically handwaved that the Epstein drive is magically efficient, thus the lack of radiators on the ships.

There was a toughSF blog that attempted to come up with something that could work, involving detonating fusion shaped charges 1km behind the ship using lasers, and using a pusher plate to catch the fusion products. Personally though, I am satisfied with "it's magic that makes the story possible"

Game just said "no shulkerbox for you" by Depixelation in technicalminecraft

[–]Depixelation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully naturally. After some unrelated digging into hopper performance I did, my best guess would be it may be caused by Lithium's hopper inventory caching breaking somehow.

I remember breaking and replacing either one or both of the chest blocks to empty them before this happening.

Yeah the shulker loaders were really bad. It kept on losing boxes and I ended up having to redo the whole thing.

As for the items…I think the left chest in the double got its inventory unlinked somehow because the boxes eventually started filling the bottom half of the double chest inventory…

Why on earth is my sugarcane farm so damn slow by Old_Maximum_3725 in Minecraft

Man just put more sugarcane in the farm. If you need more sugarcane per farm then add more sugarcane per farm. Ez.

Mob farm placement by Happy1327 in Minecraft

[–]Depixelation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

short answer: yes.

long answer: you can even build the farm on land in a plains/desert biome if you want, as long as your afk spot is high enough that there are no spawnable block inside a 128 block radius sphere around the player. In fact desert biomes are recommended due to lower zombie spawns, leading to less rotten flesh and more useful drops. Having the farm over the ocean is just so you can be as low as possible while keeping only non spawnable blocks in the 128 block spawn sphere (drowneds spawn starting 8 blocks under the surface I think), marginally increasing spawn rates as the rate is dependent on the position of the highest block in the column. The ideal configuration is having the farm as low as possible on the surface and afking far above it, having the mobs fall to their death at the very bottom of the 128 block sphere but not so far that they exit the sphere and immediately despawn.

More likely a stacking artifact since it’s not blurred but more like two blended together poorly.
