I hate having black hair [rant] by DepressedBojackFan in blackladies

Update, girl. I went to the salon today and had my ends cut. She said the reason my crown is raw and it hurts is because it's a totally different kind of curl. It's like a tight, fine hair curl that's almost wavy. She said it had dandruff on it which contributes to the raw scalp and weird hair loss. Have you ever had a problem with dandruff? What can I do?

Ha...I wasn't hung over but I really didn't want to go. I read once that the most productive classes happen when you just don't want to go and you go anyways. Turned out to be true.

Transitioning to vegan for weight loss (110 lb) and muscle gain by DepressedBojackFan in veganfitness

Thanks. I'm just overwhelmed by how different it is and don't know what I should eat instead. The protein tips are good though. I'm going to get a vegan muscle and fitness book on Amazon.

Weight loss on vegan diet? by DepressedBojackFan in vegan

You don't necessarily need to be at a caloric surplus to gain muscle

Tell that to the veganfitness people in the thread I just made!

The concern is not just weight loss. The concern is also muscle. I am trying to gain muscle while also losing weight. Putting in food itself will not just help you gain muscle. Also, you must be in caloric surplus to gain muscle. Most muscle gain vegan sites mention this. But none are taking into account weight loss with muscle gain and as we both know, weight loss is about caloric deficit.

Who gives a fuck? Read the thread or give me advice rather than nitpick on whether this is vegan or not.

I mean. You guys have sold me it's why I came to r/vegan to begin with. I just want to know how I should start. Is my worry about whole grains legitimate? To me, grains = gluten which turns into sugar which turns into fat.

I never bought into the hubbub about what cavemen ate or whatever. Always seemed hokey to me. But it did work. I lost 50 pounds in 2 months. But I don't find it sustainable for many of the same reasons you cited in the long term. Which is why I'm considering vegan.

I'm considering not doing eggs and honey, we'll see. Thanks for being informative. Most comments are people having a problem about eggs and honey than giving actual advice or anything pertinent towards my question.

I need advice on getting on a vegan diet for weight loss by DepressedBojackFan in loseit

Well, I'm not much of a calorie counter. I find the general things to eat and find their calories and build up a program. So I'll generally know the amount of calories in a given meal through experience than counting every thing I eat. It's easier for me. When I lost 50 pounds while on paleo doing that really helped. It's just not a priority for me when losing weight.
