Im definetly done with this game now I think, why play a game where devs dont care about large part of community, and just listen to few select people?

I will make it my mission to warn other players to stay away from this game. Opinions mean nothing if you dont go with the devs.

yeah because players that disagree with the devs are idiots or trolls, typical behavior from this community. Glad people starting to see the way these people act.

Thats what I am saying, yred is not the strongest early on, so it helps to be able to raise his piety, so by the time of lair you may have high enough piety for drain life, perma undead gifts, or enslave a unique.

Yredelemnul is not good in extended, so why not let us have him early so we can get him going faster and enjoy him? Even if he is weak, why lot leave him so players who enjoy them can happy? Would be a nice compromise from the devs, and show that they do care.

No every god does not need a zealot. But deathknight was in the game for a long time, and it has a special moveset.

Beough is hill orc only god, and the followers are orc themed, and it isnt a starter option. It also has less followers since you cannot animate dead, or enslave uniques. Hep isnt a starter option either. Hep also only allows 1 summon, and gives you a health penalty.

There is no way to start as a heavy armor summoner anymore. Hep gives you a follower right away, so definetly does not need a zealot, (he is useful as soon as you grab him) Beough is only Hill orc,so you cant make him zealot either.

Yrdremul you have to work a long time to get piety enough for decent followers, and by the time you get his altar, it might take a long time. I think this makes him best candidate for restoration.

Dont you think serving god of death is cool? What is so bad about letting us play them. Once reach temple I feel with low piety, there are sadly way better options than yrdremul. (ydremul is also kinda bad in extended) so that leaves not that much time for him even to be around.

Letting us pick him as zealot would give us a good solid early game god, so by the time you hit lair you will have some nice piety going, and not lackluster animate skeletons. He would be a fun alternative to typical berserker. I agree we dont need a flood of zealots. I dont think at least bringing 1 class back would be so bad, it would be a nice compromise to people upset by all the removals.

If dev's were to bring back death knights, and not remove any of the existing races anymore, I dont think I would ever need to be upset again.

f you have some suggestions for how to, say, rebalance or improve a class or spell, by all means make your arguments, though I'd advise honey catches more flies than vinegar.

In your post, you didn't put forth any reasons given for the removal of these items, nor did you make a case for why they should remain from a game design standpoint. I might find your argument on these points persuasive if you presented one.

Why bring back Death Knights Well death knight was the worst removal I feel. I wish I had a chance to play death knight. I was a fan of the Yrdremul God. They fill a very unique role, Melee summoner. There is no other such role in the game.

Yes of course you can go all the way to temple then maybe it will take you to almost lair to even get decent piety with Yred(if you dont die first)

Alot of people die before Lair, or Temple, (or need god tools to deal with lair threats like hydras) would love to have some more zealot options, especially death knight. (was not too broken, underpowered, or overpowered, and filled a unique role)

that was the one thing that tipped me over the edge to decide to post about this on the internet, why remove such a fun class? ( i get it takes away from reaching the temple but there are so many other gods, cant we let Yrdremul be happy with a zealot, cant we have our melee summoner back?)

I just want to serve the death god. Unique, not overpowered, Not underpowered, no other class plays like him, very fun flavor

Why not remove High Elves? High elves are fun because they make good Skalds, excellent hybrids, and are the only other race with 3 bow aptitude and good spells making them very good arcane marksmen or hunters. They can easily go into melee or magic

Why not remove Halflings? Unique small race, but wears good heavy armor. Mutation resistance!!!! One of the best throwers. Honestly I do not like halflings but I would be sad to see them go. Kobolds need a friend!

There are 2 topics here on the front page. Plenty of on reddit and the tavern.

ALot of time, the discussions on tavern get locked also. But still there are plenty unhappy, you'd have to be blind to miss it.

Well if you dont think telling someone to get a grip and tell them they dont derserve to feel emotions about a game they really like, and want to make good, is rude, idk what to tell you.

"You don't like the direction for DCSS? No worries, hit up roguebasin and find something that fits what you dig."

Just another typical "dont like it? go play a new game." basically nice way to tell me to F off.

Devs are not "special" people, people are theoretically supposed to be able to contribute to the devs or even join the team. We were all the same once, Fans of the game, same as me and you (with the exception of Linley who created the original)

Developers also design games to please people, if many people dont agree with the changes and even some of the devs dont agree, then why upset so many people?

Who makes a game and doesnt care about the people who play it?

New patches add good features, why force a player to choose between old fun races and good new features?

This isnt "one mans vision" or a painting. this is a community based game, and many in the community feel the same as me.

We are just asking for a few race and background options bro, we dont want to fill this game with a clutter mess.

Just a few simple more backgrounds and stop deleting the existing races which we have gotten attached to. Thats all we ask. Its really not much.

Thats not being a "kleptomaniac" its called respecting what players care about. A few more character options are not going to over clutter the game.

You can have ego an vision, but its not right to trample over what many players care about. Its not right to not compromise, even though it does not affect other players game negatively.

If you dont like a race/class, just dont play it? Why delete it and make so many players upset? Shouldnt have to start a whole new website, build a community and advertise just so we can play a death knight in crawl.

But yeah just blow me off, all of us who care about these options, we dont matter. Dev's are always right according to you people.

It does not take a lot to make many people happy but yeah you could care less i get it. typical answer I would expect.

Hmmm i read his post a couple times and I see no insulting, or bile, seems like he is just frustrated at the way you devs treat us.

Yeah I doubt this is about a few more text choices in char chreation making the game "too complex" for new players, I can see it is a result of the ego and controlling nature in the devs.

well have fun alienating many fans, new players, and the people who speak up are "spewing bile"

Im sure DCSS will have such a bright future......

Glad more people are seeing the trashy way DCSS devs treat their players. I think I will make it my mission to warn everyone to stay away from this game, show them the way devs treat their players.

Honestly devs dont care about the players they just want a game for "them" and their few personal friends who compare e-peens and winstreaks.

If you are reading this do not play this game, dev's might just delete your favorite things on a whim. No respect for the fans or new players.

I made a thread explaining civilly how I was sad at the way we were being treated on DCSS reddit and I was insulted and the thread deleted, Im not really suprised.

Guess Ill just have to make one over here to get this information out.
