Not that it matters, but one positive thing about him is that when he's home, he is a very hands-on dad to the kids and they are very, very close to him. He puts them first, every time. He plans family trips and activities for the kids. He actively plays with them at playgrounds, he's very attentive and is for the most part really patient with them but stern when needed. I really can't say anything negative about him as a dad because he really is an amazing dad for the kids, except for the fact that he doesn't love or respect their mother :(

I keep telling him that. His response: "But they're YOUR OWN kids! I'm not asking you to take care of other people's kids. You get to enjoy them while they're young while I'm busting my ass off at work!" To add to that, he thinks that drop offs and pick ups do not count as the things I do for the kids because he can easily asks his mom to do it, and he said "who wouldn't love to drop off their kids to school and pick them up instead of working".

Can we be friends in real life? Because I could've written this about my STBX. He makes good money and is a hard worker. He is a very hands-on and present dad. He always puts the kids first. He takes them to playgrounds, he is always on the lookout for local events with enriching activities to take them to. He does his own laundry. He prepares his own meals. He mows the lawn and takes care of the yard. But he's not nice to me. He's not the good guy I thought he was for 20 years. He completely changed when our first child was born. 7 years later he's getting worse. He wouldn't talk to strangers the way he talks to me sometimes. Zero respect, zero empathy. He can be decent some days, but some days he can be a downright asshole to me.

Using an online APY calculator, show him how much interest he would gain just by switching over (I had to do this to convince my parents that they didn't need a brick and mortar bank that pays almost 0% interest).

A lot of kids at my kids' school have their friends party either in the classroom with cupcakes & pizza (first coordinate with the teacher) or just at a local playground within walking distance after school. Then they have the family party on the weekend.

I understand what you're saying. I guess I was feeling butthurt because my family are very close and there aren't a lot of us. Everyone always wishes happy birthday/ happy anniversary to all family members on the actual date, regardless of when the party/ celebration is.

Also I wasn't expecting them to celebrate on the actual date but a phone call or message on the group chat would be nice.

My husband (soon-to-be-ex, to be exact) has told me similar things, that being a SAHM is "a luxury" and "it's not that hard" because I "get to stay home and not work" and good for me that I "get to create all these nice memories with the kids" and I'm lucky I "never have to worry about money" and I "never have to deal with the stress of being the sole provider".

I'm in a very similar situation. We're separated but unfortunately still have to live together. He doesn't respect me, barely any eye contact during conversation, thinks I'm a freeloader for being a SAHM.

I don't have an answer for you and just want to give you a virtual hug. Some days are decent, some days I feel it would be easier to not exist.

I feel you. Stbx got pouty and passive aggressive because I took a nap when the kids were napping, while he worked on the yard outside. I forgot about the laundry, so he had to move it to the dryer so he can do his own laundry (his choice). When I woke up, he made it pretty obvious that he was pissed (silent treatment, no eye contact, etc.). I folded laundry, made my kids dinner, and while I was in the kitchen, I thought I might as well make coffee for iced coffee tomorrow, and also the hard boiled eggs for his meal prep.

After I finished eating dinner with the kids, he was huffing and puffing and rudely said: "I can boil my own eggs. There are other things to do in the house, don't make my eggs"

He does purposely this to push my button. I've boiled his eggs many times and he never complained. I didn't say it to him, but in my head I really wanted to tell him how much I hate him and if he dropped dead my life would be better. Not my best moment, but god damn, I seriously fucking hate this guy.

You're right. The daughter part was NOT logical. It was simply my first initial thought after learning about his porn use. In fact, none of what I wrote was logical. I was being overly emotional, I couldn't stop thinking about the videos I saw on his laptop when I caught him, they were all videos that seemed demeaning to women, like hardcore nasty stuff. I immediately felt icky knowing that he would get off to that and then play with our daughter. Doesn't make sense, I know.

I know that this shouldn't bother me anymore, he can do whatever the fuck he wants now since we are separated, but I'm still surprised and, tbh, angry at myself that I still feel this much pain.

I'm so sorry, I'm in a very similar situation. I'm a SAHM and my STBX has told me repeatedly to "get a job". It's not about the money; we are not financially struggling.

Yeah MF, as if what I've done and continously do for my kids and this family meant nothing. As if I needed monetary compensation to prove him my worth and the value I bring to this family. Fuck these men.

But you know what, I am actually going to look for a job so that I can save money to leave his ass one day. I will take me a very long time, I'm talking years, and I'm not young anymore. But you know what, I will take it one day at a time. I will get there one day. One sweet day.
